Default Did somebody here rescue Champagne Til Dawn?

I read something about him being taken from an auction in Washington and that he was in rough shape. I know something about his background if someone wants to PM me.

Look on the Fugly Blog. She is involved in his rescue from a kill pen:

I think her username here is catskn. I will get ahold of her and tell her you've got some info. She'll be thrilled.

My friend got some video of him today after his new shoes. I think his prospects are looking a lot brighter!

    Default Champagne Til Dawn

This is a very wonderful thing that you and your friend have done. He looks so much better, bless his soul, still quite sore but moving for those treats and loves the kitty! Bless you all horse, folks and felines.

    Default Sad news

Not the update I was hoping for, yet still so much better than how things could have ended up for him:

I live in Wa. state and just read this post for the first time, Good Lord! could someone please post where he came from, which auction, $40.00??? Thank you to the honorable people who gave him a dignified ending...I am so sad that this happened in Wa. but I guess it's happening to Tb's everywhere. Clearly it's time for me to get my head out of the sand!

I thank everyone that tried to save this beautiful boy. Bless you, and godspeed to this wonderful horse. You may lose some, but you all are angels for what you are doing. Again, thank you.

Having seen the x-rays Fugly posted, I'm not surprised, but I'm sorry to hear it.

Coop - he came from the Enumclaw auction. It is held the first sunday of the month although the numbers of horses has really been dwindling there and prices are horrible. Anyone who continues to buy from slaughter dealers in WA should have their heads examined as you could rescue 10 horses from that sale for the same price as some of the "rescues" charge.

    Default A strange update...

In the "almost too weird to be true" category, I just found out that Champagne 'Til Dawn and one of my 2008 rescues, Thai's My Mama, have a daughter together called Out Til Dawn that is currently racing.

This one seems meant to be - if anyone here knows Sharon Balcom at Portland Meadows, please let her know that mare has a place to go if she ever needs one.
