Keep the horse in a garage? Ride it back and forth to the gym? I think it's a joke. I hope it's a joke.

So is he only planning to go to the gym for 5 days?
People never fail to make me go wtf I would hope it was a joke! I mean, someone with an ivy league diploma should be smart enough to come up with a better idea than keeping a horse in his garage for 5 days!

The first thought I had was.... oooo... someone got caught drinking and driving and got his license suspended and his vehicle impounded.

I'm guessing there was some sort of wager made while intoxicated.

Just because you went to an Ivy League school doesn't mean you're smart. You can just be politically well connected or be related to alumni who donate a lot of money.

He should go to Enterprise and get a CAR. The other geldings at my barn look at funny sites on the internet at night, this is how I know about these things, I would worry what this guy would do to a horse. I am sorry to have to say that.

I bet he gets a lot of responses from the scammers and identity thieves.

What, you're not supposed to keep horses in the garage? I have about 30 of them in there now. I'll gladly give him one for $175, and he can keep it forever!

What scares me more than the ad....the fact that he will more than likely get people willing to rent him a horse.

I actually got the impression that this is some creepy ad to meet women. Read the last sentence.

Does take all kinds, doesn't it?

If this is weird, though, how weird will be the people who present horses for consideration?

At the end of the day he'd probably do better to rent a bike.

    oh my goodness - lol..

Here's what my son (age 18) said when I read that ad to him:

    1. Uhm, you can't keep a horse in a garage, can you?
    2. That might not be safe for the horse
    3. There's something odd about that person
    4. Maybe he met a woman at the gym and is trying to impress her by riding a horse to the gym..
    5. Maybe he is just "strange"

My reaction - who the flying fruitbat would rent a horse to this person to ride on a highway to a gym for five days?

Why does this person need to ride a horse to the gym, is his car broken? Is his mind broken..
I got a good laugh out of this and can only hope that it is a joke.

I am guessing he has made a new years resolution to work out.
Hey 5 days is longer than I usally last.
I hope someone doesn't really respond to his ad.

I agree with McVillesMom -- he was on the losing end of a wager.

I know people who kept their horses in their garage in the winter, in Alaska. They all liked the setup, no going outside to feed in -40 etc. In the summer, the horses lived outside.

I lived in a subdivision as a kid and my pony had a pen in the backyard with access to the garage, it worked for him.

As for the riding to the gym thing, I'm with the losing bet, or maybe some kind of promotional thing. Not so crazy, really.

I saw an add on CL where someone wanted to rent a 4 wheel drive vehicle for 3 days so they could play on the snow. Couldn't they just go to Hertz?
