For a long time I nothing heard or read about the awesome Katie Prudent.
Where is she now. Is she still competing? Is there a clinic with her? Where I can find photos or articles? I like her riding style.
Thank you in advance
Doesn't she come to the US every winter (I think she has a VA base)and compete in FL and then back to France for the rest of the year? That's what she had been doing although I haven't heard anything about her recently.
She was at the Duke Horse Show in Raleigh in the beginning of November. I had never had the opportunity to see her ride before. Let me just say, I was in awe.... If I ever ride half that well, I'll be in good shape!
I don't know anything about her schedule for the rest of the year, but I do know that she was in the States as of a few weeks ago.

My dad got a brochure from the AMEX people that they send to rich white guys with different "adventures". Drive a racecar, etc etc. Mixed in was a week with Katie at her farm in NoVA- I hope for her sake no one signed up.
They stayed over here this year (Henri went back for awhile, but Katie stayed) and are still here. Their farm is in Middleburg, literally within the city limits, and is beautiful. They were both in Raleigh.
If you ever get a chance to ride with Katie, for heaven's sake, jump on it. GM will tell you that she is one of his two favorites and has the wonderful combination of enormous talent coupled with an almost overpowering drive to succeed. She is tough but fair.
If she were ever to get a really top horse again, she would be hard to beat...
katie and henri along with their students showed on long island this summer at sagaponack and a few other shows. I was shooting their ring for a local photographer at that show, what a thrill to watch them ride in person on the young horses.
She was my idol growing up and I still admire her riding skills to this day.
I remember when they used to show lots of the Grand Prixs on tv and would tape them and watch them over and over. I absolutely loved Noren! What a beautiful horse!
No, the "Plain Bay" comes from a string of plain bays, including Bullwinkle and Jonesy, that she showed in the late 70's, long before The Governor. The original Plain Bay Farm was in Upperville. She then leased stalls at the current location until it came up for sale and she bought it. I don't think, but could be wrong, that it was part of the Harriman property. It is actually located inside the city limits of M'burg, almost the last driveway (and the second coming into town) as you leave town. It is a beautiful property.
