    Default pony height

I read somewhere that the worst height for a pony is 14.0 hh. Is this true and if so, I'm curious to know why that is? I always thought that 14.0 hh is considered a small large.

Anything that is on the small side of the height range for the division is considered "worse" than being on the large end. I can't say I've ever heard of 14.0 being the "worst."

But more people will look at a large Large than a small Large.

Well, 13.3 is worse and of course 14.3 isn't too shiney either.... Some ponies can be successful in the regular division at 14H. I don't think that Dreamboat was too much bigger than that. But ideally they are a bit bigger.
14H is just fine for a children's pony.

no, the worst height is a pony that barefoot with a good trim and stretched out is still just over 14.2.

That my friend, is now a very tiny horse. And a bummer.

The reason that you don't want a small large is that they have to jump 3' and make the 12' strides. It's a tall order for most ponies and one that is on the small side will often have a hard time doing that. 13.3 is a worse height though...
