Default The Cocktail Party Thread (a.k.a. The "Jack This Thread")

OK THIS IS HOW THIS THREAD WORKS!
Point is to add a post to this thread that takes whatever subject the previous poster discusses, and CLEANLY TRANSITIONS it into a new subject - kind of like what happens to a conversation at a cocktail party.

    For example:

Poster 1 says - "I got a flat tire on my new car today. You would think that Lexus would put better tires on their cars."

Poster 2 says - "My dentist just bought a Lexus. He told me during my recent root canal. That was one painful procedure, let me tell you."

Poster 3 says - "Root canals are bad, but nothing was as painful as the surgery on my knee. I had shooting pains for a month afterward."

... and so on. The key is that every post must start out referencing the prior post in some way, but turn it into a completely new subject. This will be good practice for those that have not yet learned how to "schmooze" mindless, meaningless drivel at a party - an essential skill for life.

With that, have fun, and let's get this thread rolling with the following:

I'm planning a trip to New York City, I want to see the botanical gardens before the flowers all die.

I'm the world's worst gardener... my friend gave me a begonia for a housewarming gift years ago, and I put it on the windowsill out of the cats' reach... literally months later, I suddenly remembered its existence... there was not much begonia left.

Aw I just love cats. My cat is named Woody. He's so cute, once I woke up in the morning and he had dropped a dead squirrel outside my bedroom door just for me!

Hah! No windowsill is out of the cat's reach! Before her death, my cat educated me very firmly on this truth.

Windowsills are precarios places to put nice stuff. I had a small glass ornament from china on my windowsill in my kitches and it fell off anc crashed on the floor yesterday =[

Don't you just hate it when glass breaks all over the place? I am so worried that something like that is going to happen to that beautiful new crystal bowl I won for being the most fantabulous rider in the world.

    that's MY lucky number!

in my gym class, we got our locks (for lockers, in locker room, duurrrrr) last week and my combination has a 13 in it

I despise this locker room. It is old, grimy, disgusting, the lockers are ultra-tiny, and the bathroom stalls? the walls are actually like 5' high! sheesh!

In my next life, I am going to be tall. And blond. Tall women and tall horses give the illusion of power.

I'm going to wield my power as a mod to remind you all that threads in Off Course still have to be horse-related.

You can still have a cocktail party, but horses have to be in the mix!

I can't seem to attend any of my classes without bringing horses up in some way. My professors must think I'm crazy.

My filly is going through puberty right now I think. Don't you think seven months old is about puberty horse wise? Oops, I'm late, and she's TALL and going through puberty, but she's a redhead.

I've owned 4 red-headed mares in my life, but I prefer geldings with 4 white socks named Clipper.

My black mare hates the clippers, but loves the vacuum.

I clipped a black mare once, very kicky behind. I guess I am a professional clipper now as I take money for it. You know "renumeration".
