Default Please jingle for my dear friend UPDATE 11/24 SHE'S GOING HOME!

we had a lovely hunt today, the weather was great, the hounds were on, it was fabulous.
Unfortunately the hunt ended badly for one of my closest friends. She was one of the first real friends I made when I joined this hunt 10 years ago, she really took me under her wing and taught me about hunting. To this day, she is truly one of my best and closest friends.

My friend has ridden all her life, she's now in her early 50's, has evented and hunted since she was a child so she is very experienced. She brought her new horse out today for his first hunt. I'm a whipper in so I don't know what happened, but she was run away with and found unconscious on the ground some time later by the field. She came around but ended up leaving the hunt in an ambulance.

She is on coumadin for other issues, and after xrays and ct scan was found to have several fractures in various areas of her body, a collapsed lung and a brain bleed. Obviously they can't operate yet, and she is in surgical icu. She is at one of the best hospitals in the country thank God.
But if everyone can please jingle for her, I know she would appreciate it and so would I.
    thanks all

    Prayer sent for you friend.

The University of Miami Hospital put my 30 year old nephew back together this July when he left a speeding moped forehead first into a chain link fence in Key West. 3 weeks in a ICU drug induced coma for brain swelling & bleeding and a plate in his forehead have healed him.....along with storming the heavens with prayers.

thank you so much. every prayer helps. Obviously the coumadin is complicating things, but right now they are keeping her comfortable and she is stable. She's on oxygen and heavily sedated. She's at Shands/Gainesville, which I guess is probably the best place for her to be.

    Jingles.

Yes, the coumadin isn't going to help w/internal bleeds, but they must have very specific protocols about that and thank goodness it is a known factor so they can take it into account.

Thanks everyone. Please keep jingling hard. I just got an update, she's holding her own and they have begun the protocol to counteract the coumadin (vitamin K, etc) so
hopefully things will look better with the new day to come. I'm so scared for my friend.

No Maxxtrot I don't believe that it is, although I'm not sure who went to that luncheon. If you pm me some names I can tell you for sure.
I should be getting another update in a few hours, everyone has taken a break to go feed horses and hounds, shower etc. Our other hunt friend is on staff at Shands so she is with her and can actually go in the room.
