Question saddle repair near Chicago IL

I have my original Stubben Siegfried since I was ten years old. I am 44+ now.

I am quite attached to it at this point and am a bit nervous to send it for repair but this I must do (some small issues that I want to prevent becoming big issues.)

Does anyone know someone qualified near me?

I thought Saddler's lost their master saddler earlier this year?

Whether it's Frances or not, their in-house saddler Michael Dainton is excellent and will take great care of your Stubben.

You might also try Bit & Bridle in Hanover Park

I haven't used them for many years, so if something's changed & someone here knows about it, please let the OP know

They got Michael Daition (sp?) who was originally in Chester County PA. We are so sad to lose him!!!! He re-fitted two saddles for me a few months ago. He is great!

Bit N Bridle is still there - Bob still does the leather work. Can't say enough good things about them - and repairs are quite reasonable.

Tigerhorse - that's good to know
They were always so nice about doing things.
I brought in a Winter blanket once for cleaning and they sewed up some little rips w/o being asked for N/C

Hi! No, I'm not Frances, just the Internet Marketing Coordinator. I can certainly pass along any messages to Frances, though, if anyone ever needs me to.

As a few people mentioned we do have Michael Dainton here as our resident Master Sadder. We also have Judi Berninger, who is a Society of Master Saddlers Qualified Saddle Fitter and she can do things with saddle panels/flocking, but actual leather repairs would go to Michael. He is in the store today (just walked by him a few minutes ago, actually), if anyone needs to reach him by phone.

They are always great to work with! I am so glad they are in my neck of the woods. (I bought my very first saddle from them - eons ago - they were on Irving Park Rd in the city (Chicago) at that time!)
