    Aw, I'll play...

    A personal favorite (with a friend's daughter)

And two or my favorite action photos my friends took - excellent photographers, both of them!

this picture means a lot to me because it's one of those candid pictures. I love the little girl that I'm talking to. She is an amazing rider, and I really love how we both did the same things with our hands

These are pictures of me & my 21 year old morab by the pond. It's our favorite spot

    One from riding:

And this last one is a pic from our 4 year anniversary

I put this one my dad took on a shimmery pink mat with a black frame and gave it to the girl's mom:

    Default TKS for sharing - they're gr8!

I did a couple of those special effects things to these, it makes them look like watercolors.

This is a few years old, I had no idea anyone was at the arena with a camera. I was loving on my girl Penelope because we had just cantered for the first time and I was so happy

This was at a show last month, we were schooling the day before. I had just brought her out and was adjusting her girth--once again I had no idea the picture was being taken

Our first attempt at stretchy trot 2 years ago--my form is not good and she's not stretching very far--but I love the shot anyway

My daughter and her horse, just got thru schooling at a show last month, photo taken by my trainer who also used to be a professional photographer--this picture has already got her 3 photo shoots from my horsey friends

And last but not least, this photo is my daughter and her first pony Genie, we were at the Region VI Connemara show, they had just won the Half-Breed Connemara in-hand and were walking out of the arena. I miss that pony!!!

    Fun thread!

I know what you mean. I love taking pictures and try and try, and most are still deleted. But every now and then . . .

Here are two of my favorites, both of the same horse (although wearing different colors).

The first one was one of the OMG moments when it's like it was set up for you. After all the effort, suddenly you happen to look over, and the horse is absolutely posed and still and the lighting is perfect. The sun was setting behind his ears. I love this shot - and on this one, I could have taken 10 of them. He was just posed for it. But I knew I had it in one.

Second picture is from a few weeks ago, just spontaneous play. The silver yearling was galloping around doing tempi changes, just for the fun of it, performing his own solo dressage test while his elders were more sedate. Pure exuberance - and this shot is the only one of about 10 that was worth anything from that session. Sometimes, I think as hard as we try, the best photos have that luck element.

In my opinion, a horse is the animal to have. 1300 pounds of raw muscle, power, grace, and sweat between your legs - it's something you just can't get from a pet hamster.

I don't have enough pictures of my horses... I either forget to bring my camera, or don't have anyone handy to take pictures for me!

But, here are a few that I do have:

I just love the way the wind is blowing her mane

and this one I just like the angle... plus my head is cut off in the picture which is probably a good thing since I tend to make weird faces
