To build my perfect tb sporthorse I need to own about 10 more mares so I can experiment.......except the barn is full right now....and I kept forgetting to buy lottery tickets!
Still, I am up to my bad ways looking at canter mares and came across this girl In West Virginia with Catch on Dream (Bonne Nuit line) in the mare line....I dont know about the rest although I think she has some turf horses also on the bottom (turf sometimes equal sporthorse?). Maybe she is not a head turner but her pedigree is interesting.
Castle Cove is most assuredly NOT dead. A friend of mine had inquired about breeding to him a couple months ago and he was fine and ready to go. You are probably thinking of his sire, Castle Magic, one of the best hunter sires ever.
I have plans to breed my stallion (Navy Bird) back to my mare (Young Man's Fancy). I have a 2 year old from this match and he is everything I hoped for - lovely conformation, straight and correct, a big boy already over 16 hands and well built, fabulous temperament, good mind and learns quickly, good feet, nice mover and as an added bonus he is flashy as heck with tons of chrome and a flaxen mane and tail! I want to keep this boy and make him my own hunter. I couldn't breed Fancy back in 2008 as I had a 3 year old to sell, but he is now sold and in a good home so I can breed another one.
