My fantasy sporthorse sire is Rock Hard Ten (who names these horses?!?). He is huge, with great bone and big feet and built up hill. The little video on the Thoroughbred Record stallion site is impressive.

Oscar is one of my favourites: http://www.coolmore.com/stallions/national_hunt/oscar/

But I'll always be partial to Galileo:

With Approval was my favourite in North America prior to being sold to England:

Dynaformer, except for his ugly personality. Perhaps he's mellowed since retirement....

So, when we come to breed our TB sporthorse, or look for a TB stud to add class to our mare (!) we come to COTH, sort through all the innumerable threads, pick all fertile minds of knowledgeable COTHer's and go slightly mad. What a tangled web we weave. We NEED that data base, based on the European formula with all the traits examined so we can match our ladies to their beaus.

Uh, he's actually quite famous for the fact that he's an absolute prick to handle, and bearing in mind he's 23 this year he's had a lot of years of retirement to reform if he was going to.

Too bad. Judging from how he handled his rehab Barbaro had a good personality though -- must have gotten it from his mom.

He is lovely! Good luck with him!

(And if he goes missing, don't look in my barn. I won't have him, honest. )

HAWK WING from Coolmore. He is just perfect and I've seen him in person. I don't think his lines suggest jumping, but he is amazing. And you can lump High Chaparral in with him. I'm too tired to do link, but www.coolmore.com will get you there. I have a High Chap baby due next year and I hope he/she gets Daddy's will to run!

Oh and definitely not One Cool Cat. I've seen him to and he's a good enough stamp for a TB, but really not what you are looking for if breeding sporthorses but that's just my opinion.
