Looking for Info on Stallion Named "Special Event"
Can anyone provide me with information on a stallion named Special Event. I believe he is/was either a tb or a tb cross. I would love a link to "his page" somewhere if possible.
Thanks.

Am I crazy or was he in the PNW?

He stood at North Star Farms Sylvan Farms) in Arlington quite a while ago. I THINK he was at a vet clinic or similiar place after that Not sure. He was by Final Pool o/o Silver Lining ( by Cordelabreyer (sorry about spelling). Full brother to a bunch of nice horses but he got hurt and never showed. E-mail Sylvan Farms.

If he is bay and a han/tb, then he is definitely in the pnw. He gets collected at the same vet facility as our stallion (Rocky Bay Equine near Gig Harbor).
I know I found his website once but can't seem to find it now...

WarmbloodColor has it right - he was actually living at Rocky Bay when we took our three broodies down there for breeding (to a different horse standing at the clinic) a couple of years ago. He is quite an eyeful! Very correct stallion, tons of quality.
You could likely call the clinic and ask - I'm sure they would know if he's still in the area.

Yes, he's in the PNW and does stand at Rocky Bay. To contact the owners call Brass Ring Farm in Buckley, WA. Nancy Free and Karen Green can help you out! Or PM if you need a phone number for them...
I know Brass Ring's website is down so you won't find him online right now...
Hope that helps!

"... stood at north star farm/sylvan farm leslie & michael boggs 360-435-0235"
This information is from years ago. Please do not call the farm about this as Leslie has since died. It would be very difficult for Mike.
Thank you.

Yes - Final Pool was used about five times over Silver Lining they liked the cross so much. Final Event was not introduced to many, if any, registries, but is a lovely hores. He had two very successful show hunters - Show Boat and Special Occasion who were very successful on the east coast. I know about him because I took my mare down to Arlington to be bred to Final Pool. Silver Lining was a big mare who just grabbed your attention with her presence.

Show Boat and Special Occassion were siblings. Is Special Memories by Special Event?

I really liked this horse too, and was thinking of him for one of my AFR sisters a few years ago. As others have said he is 1/2 TB (by Final Pool) and 1/2 Holsteiner out of a beautiful Holsteiner mare, Silver Lining. (who I think is Corde and Silbersee - but I have been known to be wrong, sometimes).
As far as I know he is not related to Special Memories, who I believe is 1/2 Trakehner and 1/2 TB (Abdullah and Touch of Class? perhaps??
another lovely horse.

Has anyone had soundness issues with their Final Pool babies? Some of the ones I knew either started with serious soundness issues and were never even backed and a couple others had soundness issues later and started stopping.
Silver Lining was a great mare.
Interesting -- I hadn't heard the Final Pool name in a long time and he showed up in this topic and one on the H/J Forum.

He was on the thread mentioning GP showjumping TB's. Jumped at Spruce the World Cup qualifying level. Lovely hores, lovely offspring.
Remember, unsound horses can blame either the dam or the sire, or whatever. Pool himself had a trailering accident and until then was sound to a good age. He is still alive at 31 in Langley at his owner's home.

Final Pool is still alive?? I'll be danged. Everyone used to breed to him.
I think Silver Lining was by Cor de le Breyer (SP) She was very lovely herself. Nancy used to ride with Brad Laird - way back when.
You're right Final Pool was in a trailering accident - instead of taking care of it the owner just went ahead and jumped him.
