Why not get an Antares bridle to match your saddle? I love mine, gorgeous leather and excellent workmanship. Hadfields, CWD and Edgewoods are also some of my favorites.

Lots of suggestions on the Bridle Guide at www.theoutsidecourse.com.

I have considered it! Seeing them at the SM Masters last year, I fell in love! When I saw them in Greenhawk though they looked and felt just like any other bridle on the wall, not what I expected! The $500 price tag is what scares me most though! Thanks for the link, I'll definetly check it out!

    saddle - Beval Natural

bridle - Edgewood and some cheapish one I bought many years ago when I owned my first horse.

martingale - the same cheapish brand as the bridle above. I rarely use it.

girth - a cheap padded fleece one

horse boots - don't use them, but I do have a pair of cheap splint boots I'll throw on him sometimes. I owned a pair of Heidi boots, but those died a sad death out in the pasture when my horse decided he'd rather be naked.

field boots - um...um...ok, if I can't remember what brand I own that's a clue as to how long it's been since I've worn them! I know they were middle-of-the-road priced. My paddock boots and half chaps are both Ariat.

helmet - a German one I can't pronounce. I know it says Swing Pro something or other on the tag inside, too, next to the German word I can't pronounce. A family at my old barn was from Germany and was able to order a bunch of these helmets for people. It's similar to a GPA, only instead of a stripe it has a small triangular shaped vent thing. I like it.

saddle- regularly use a Lovatt and Ricketts, have a Harry Dabbs sadly sitting around not being used as well as a Derwent and a no-name.
bridle-2 pretty cheap-o Fouganza (Decathlon store brand) for schooling and an old, absolutely lovely bridle for showing. i have no idea what brand it is; coach seems to remember it was a stubben.
girth- i haven't used my tack in over a month, and i can't remember what one i have with my gear right now! i hate not riding.
horse boots- Eskadrons for the fronts, cheapy ankle boots for the backs
field boots- sadly don't exist anymore.
    helmet- CO GR8

If you are referring to the Antares bridle, it does not look or feel like "any other bridle" IMO. In fact the leather feels amazing before it is even oiled or broken in and as far as looking like others, it has a padded crown with extra fancy stitching on the crown as well as the little silver Antares button on the browband. Yes it has all the standard pieces though, cavesson, browband, reins, cheek pieces, how different can it be?

For $500 it is far superior in quality to the Beval Heritage, which is as expensive or more and a Hadfields will cost you about $700 minimum including reins. At least Antares reins are included in the price, a Hadfields will be over $400 plus reins start at about $275 and up. I think the Antares price is very reasonable for the quality.
