Question A Fine Romance and other hunter TB's?

Thinking about the TB stallions that are on the IHF list...

Anyone have offspring by these TB's?

I looked up A Fine Romance's webpage and it doesn't say too much, like how much he is and any videos. Does anyone know anything about him or his offspring?

I have seen a couple Aaron's Gold, but what other TB's out there have good hunter type offspring.

I am a big fan of TB's and my mare is a great hunter TB and it would be nice to breed to a TB. (now that she has had a DW foal)

AFR is 100% quality! He is a proven sire, and his offspring have successfully shown in HB, hunter/jumper divisions, and eventing. He himself was an accomplished 4 ft working hunter with championships at some of the most prestigious shows.

I've really liked the look of the Minister General offspring that I've seen.

There is a stallion up here in Ontario named Chief's Triumph that I absolutely love, but I don't think he's IHF nominated.

Jones Hall has produced a lot of IHF winners.

We have Guaranteed Gold IHF nominated. His oldest offspring are JUST starting to hit the performance ring now and his Faux Finish daughter (4 this year) will hopefully start her Over Fences career later on in 2008

He and his offspring can be seen at:

Minister General is a terrific stallion, I also love the look of the Noble Houston youngsters, I dont know if Musing is still standing but he also produced some fabulous hunter types as well.

I have bred to both Minister General and AFR with fabulous results!!! My MG filly ALMOST won the TB yearling fillies class at Devon this year, and my AFR babies had done just as well on the line. Unfortunatelly, I lost my AFR boy before he hit the show ring, but he was going to go places!!! AFR gives amateur friendly temperament to a fabulous package.

If you want to try something different, I also have frozen Mandate semen (see my webpage), and his filly was third behind the MG filly at Devon also.

I'm posting a couple lovely pictures for Gail. The first is a full TB A fine Romance filly now showing very successfully in the AO Division. The second is A Fine Romance himself.

What I see on AFR is heels. My biggest TB bugaboo: the flat footed, underslung heel. A gorgeous horse is only as good as his feet.

AFR and the other stallions mentioned are all very nice.

I have had three fillies by Fun and Fancy Free (by Bit of Class out of a Bally Cor daughter). This is a stallion that has absolutely been bred for the hunter ring. Webpage is http://www.myfoxfarm.com

    My 3 fillies/mares are here:

I really like Fun & Fancy Free too. That is a seriously high quality horse, and it looks like Ladybug Hill's babies are just as nice as their sire. Wow!

Oh - I was complimenting him - did it come over as a criticism?

I didn't take it as one...but your post made me go back and look at his feet. You are right....the boy does have nice looking feet! Besides a beautiful trot.

I think he's stunning as well, and I wanted to know if Foxtrot's had been lucky enough to have seen him in the flesh.

I think A Fine Romance is one of the most under used TB stallions available to Hunter and Sporthorse breeders. I would love to see him crossed with lots more WB mares... Then I need to figure out a way to buy them!

I think they are on different sides of Canada....that is probably further than from VA. I briefly saw him when he was at Hilltop...very good looking boy.

I also see MBJ's three year old by him almost everyday....and he's drool worthy too. I've got him in mind for one of my mares if I decide to breed her.....

    Default AFR!!!

I bred my WB jumper mare to AFR and just love the result. My colt (now gelding ) is 2 yo. and just wonderful. AFR improved length of leg, hip, added refinement and HUGE bonus, I got a great moving horse! I was breeding for the jumper ring and looking for athleticism, so pretty mover is icing, but not a necessity. My beloved mare, is NOT a pretty mover, and somehow, Fred's fabulous genes overcame and by Gawd, Andy moves nice enough to get a good piece of the hack in the hunters! LOL!!! Another great thing, that very athletic, handsome package is very ammy friendly.

I also believe he is under utilized by the HJ community, a great cross for WB mares.

Silly Mommy's Mandate also makes me drool. Glad she's got a little of him on ice. Also Minister General is quite a handsome gent.
