    Default Breeches v.s. Tights

Whats the difference between Breeches and Tights. I have always wondered but now i have to go out and buy a pair of breeches. Thankfully the local tack shop has breeches so hopefully ill find my size. This also means my tall boots need to be repaired.

from what i've noticed, tights are usually lighter weight, pull on, knee patch and sometimes cheaper. i actaully prefer tights for everyday riding. probly not the best choice for showing though! hope u find what ur looking for.

Yep, tights are usually thinner and less supportive fabric.

I found that tights there is no zipper/button- just as someone said "pull on". I do find them nice for daily riding. I find breeches more tailored and appropriate for showing.

There are pull-on breeches, though, that might not be suitable for showing but are more supportive/thicker.

What makes them not suitable for showing?

I think most people just prefer the traditional look. Some of them look traditional, but some look more like a thicker, more supportive tight.

But that doesn't make them unsuitable for showing, does it?

I don't know, depends on how you define suitability

    Wink

Some legs shouldn't be out in public in tights
Some riders change their horse, they change their saddle, they change their teacher; they never change themselves.
