OK, I'm just putting out feelers right now. Would like to find a pony from 11h-14h, your typical 'bombproof' kid's pony. One that a very young child would be relatively safe around (with major supervision of course)to learn proper horse care. Also one that he can ride, but has to be able to be ridden by me for 'tune ups' .
Can have some mild health issues, nothing that costs alot to maintain, however. Old founders, navicular, IR is fine; we deal with that here already. Prefer no blindness.
Doesn't have to be able to do much of anything but be kind, worked lightly, and a companion to two horses.
Can be a free lease situation, as I don't even know if he'll turn out liking horses (though he wanted to ride my big black Angus last week, first time!).
I don't have farrier references, as I do my own work, and I don't see my vet much these days, as I give any vaccs I think are needed (which are none recently), though vet does Coggins and Rabies and such that I can't get. But I do have horseperson references.
Can't travel very far to find this pony as gas prices restrict. If you have a pony or an older broodmare that once rode, that you think you may be getting ready to semi-retire, let me know. I'm in no hurry.
Just seeing what's out there that might fit.

I'm trying to figure out if she has a laminitic episode from a West Nile booster. I have learned that this pony just can't handle shots anymore! She'll have an episode.
I bought her to use for kids, but if she keeps up with this, it would be cruel to use her constantly. She came up negative for Cushings.
If you looked up bombproof packer in the dictionary, you'd see her picture.
Kids can crawl all over or under her, she'll move off your leg and is the perfect soldier. I LOVE THIS GIRL! So the perfect home is a MUST! She's a Welsh/Shetland cross.
pictures. And I know we are nearby in Reading.
