Question If you could have one fictional horse, which would you want?

Money is no object, and assume the ability to adequately ride/get along with the beast once he/she is in your stable. Which of the horses from childhood books would you most want?

My number one pick actually isn't fictional, so breaking my own rule, but Maestoso Borina from Marguerite Henry's wonderful book on the SRS. Ability to actually ride him correctly included.

For the strictly fictional horse category, I'm torn between the Black and Flicka, but since I've always been partial to mares, I'll take Flicka.

Black Stallion. Nuff said. I grew up reading the books and watching the show. Which reminds me..I need to go buy it on DVD now that it's out.

Black Beauty! I have over 15 copies of the book and just about every movie ever made. No book has ever made me cry more or be happier. I swear, it's why I'm so involved in animal rescue!

Black Minx. I loved her 'tude!
It's been years (maybe decades...) since I've read it, but didn't he have her win the Kentucky Derby?
    Then I definitely want her!

Pegasus would be kinda fun to have. I guess mythology could count as fictional?

Isn't Black Minx the one where he taught her about not biting people with the hot potato? I might be wrong, I loved that whole series but it's been awhile. That potato story stuck with me for some reason, not that I've ever tried to use it

Since Black Beauty is spoken for, I would like Smokey the Cowhorse.

The Pie from National Velvet. Every time I see that movie, my heart melts when I see him

I am still looking for my Copper chestnut with four high whites and a huge blaze!!!
If you really think about it, what can you blame on a horse?

What about Arizona Pie, from International Velvet? That would be my pick!

Or...if you all have claimed the Black Stallion, I would be quite happy with Flame...

Another sweetie from National Velvet (the book): Sir Pericles, the little jumper she gets given before she wins the raffle for the Pie.

Misty's Twilight. Although she's not entirely fictional.

the Ghost from The Black Stallion & the Ghost. I forget her name. Andalusian mare. Or the foal those two had. You KNOW they must've gotten together...

I think maybe Raffy, the Arabian stallion, from John Richard Young's series. He was a working cowhorse, a reiner, and an Olympic eventer.

Maybe I'll think of another later--I love to collect children's horse stories.

When I read this titile, I thought the Black. Funny to see how many others picked him too!
I wouldn't mind The Pie, either.
