$90 for fronts with clips and a trim behind. He keeps track of when she's due, shows up, gets her from the field and does her without any prompting from me. I just mail the check. He also keeps track of our show schedule so she's not done just before/after we're showing and changes shoeing based on the footing (i.e. drills for studs when we will be showing on grass, etc.).
$90 half rounds on front trim in back. This is for my sound 19yo eventer who has had the same farrier since he was 6 (from what I've heard.) Love my farrier - so happy he came with the horse! I worry a lot that he's going to retire soon.
Yikes, you guys dont want to know what my farrier charges then. A trim is $20 front shoes, with clips, trim on rear, $40, half rounds or pads on front with trim, $50, shoes all the way around, $60.00 with clips.
I do get a bit of a deal, I couldnt ask for a kinder or more reliable farrier either, especially with the rescues. But, I do pay his mortgage and because he gives me such good rates, instead of doing trims every 12 weeks like a lot of rescues, I do every 6 weeks irreguardless. Shoes of course are done every 6 weeks.
I am really really happy with my farrier. I am located in N GA
Our horses are not seen as the old and disabled they may have become, but rather as the mighty steeds they once believed themselves to be.
