    Default IHSA National Championships

They're going on now in Los Angeles CA and I'm anxious to hear any reports.
    Anyone know what's happening?

Looks like only Novice Fences has been posted so far, they are good about updating it throughout the day!

Results for the first team class (Novice Over Fences) are up now:

    1st - Stephanie Petersen - Berry College
    2nd - Raffi Kechejian - Findlay
    3rd - Pamela Geist - Stanford
4th - Crystal Threfall - College of Charleston
    5th - Hadley Deming - St. Lawrence
    6th - Taylor Lee-Stiles - Centenary

I'm biting my nails waiting for the Cacchione flat phase to start. One of my former teammates from my alma mater is the Cacchione rider from her region this year!

A HUGE congratulations to Tracy Gold, from Duke University, the only rider from her college to make it to Zones, who just pinned third in individual Novice Fences! GO TRACY!

Plug for Marisa Whitbey from Central Michigan - came in 10th place, and the first person from our school to EVER qualify for nationals (and zones!) after I founded it in 2004. I'm so happy for her!!

My one client is out there with her college team. She finished 12th overall.

Man, I feel totally ripped on the venue. The last time I went to Nationals it was in Ohio-in the cold and the woman who owned the place wouldn't turn on the heater....looked like a schooling show. And LA! Beautiful and warm! Oh well.

Congrats and Good Luck to everyone who is there!

not so beautiful and warm today! It is overcast, but still not too hot not too cold! I was supposed to volunteer with a friend today (she practically begged me to go with her), but I had too much to do. LAEC is a fantastic venue. Does anybody know which trainers donated their horses?

At least one I heard about wasn't too great. Bucked all around the course.

    Smile IHSA Nationals

Congratulations to Clemson and Sarah Spainhour for placing first O/F in the open! I wish I could have gone too. Does anyone know when they will finish the Cachionne Cup? She wasn't in that, but someone from our barn was. Also, have they finished the pinnings of the school teams or isn't that right before the Cachionne work-off? Clemson didn't have enough for a team this year - but just wait................you will see more of those Tigers!

To answer my own question, I hear (from my friend volunteering) that Elvenstar donated the majority of the horses.
