Hey everyone! I am back from Ireland! My horse still needs a situation... I am back from Europe with no job and am finding that if I want to take a job, it would be better if he did not come with me. My finances are tight.

Here is a little bit of information about him: I have had him since Jan 2001. He steeplechased before I got him, and then was in an abusive situation. I got him after he was in the horrible situation and he was worried and if you raised your voice, he would go in the corner of his stall and try to become invisible. It took him a while to trust me but we evented to the preliminary level, did jumpers, some dressage shows and trail rode. I also took him to my B and A ratings in Pony Club. He is a perfect lunger and has been used in 2 HA testings because he will stand all day to be messed with and because of his lungeing. I have taught some kids how to lunge horses using him, and I have also taught a few lessons on him. He is perfect for a walk/trot person in the ring. He can get a little fast at the canter if the rider uses their hands instead of their body to slow him. But, he can also be used for more advanced riders because he will let you know when you are doing something wrong. I do not suggest that he be used for many lessons with many riders as he does prefer to bond with one person, but he can do some. With the right person I think he would have no problem doing some lower level eventing. He is currently being ridden about 2x a week at the walk, trot, and canter. Just about anyone can ride him at the walk and trot. He is also currently out with 2 weanlings and is a fabulous babysitter.

He is the grey horse in the pictures in the link below named Magic. He has no vices. He is a complete gentleman on the ground, puts his head in his halter for you, very sweet and people oriented. ANYONE can handle, groom, clip, etc. He has been sound with the exception of the random abcess/bruise. Over a year ago he took off part of his hoof in the fence (not sure how he did it). He was never lame on it, but he had to be on stall rest and then limited turnout while it grew out. He had to wear a special shoe, etc. It is all grown out now and you cannot tell that it ever happened. He is barefoot now, and sound.

When I returned from abroad, he had lost a lot of weight. I am not sure what exactly happened, but I have been trying to get wt. back on him. He could possibly have ulcers and I am experimenting with some things now. He has gained some weight solely on BP and ultium. I think the weight issue would also be resolved if he had good pasture. The barn owner currently has waaaaaay too many horses.

Hey, He just turned 19 (doesnt look it) and yes, I would consider a permanent home for him. So, if after 6 months he is happy where he is, it is perfectly fine with me if he stays there.

Would you consider a home as far away as Missouri? I have 16 1/2 acres for my four horses (I have to put a grazing muzzle on the filly, lest she get fat! I cut it for hay once yearly, and the grass is STILL way ahead of them). My Thoroughbred used to require 15 lbs. grain daily (when we lived in Wisconsin) and now he requires half that much, and not daily, he pretty much only gets grained on hunting days. The pasture is clover (3 different species), lespedeza, fescue and big bluestem, a type of prairie grass upon which the buffalo thrived, evidently. Do you think your horse would like foxhunting?

I may well be interested for one of my kids (who rides with me). Would he be a good schoolmaster for a boy, who is a nice rider but has never done eventing?
Is he sensible on the trails and riding out in the pasture?
What kind of dressage does he do?
