However, I still think it's way too much to charge when your MO has been to reach out to the average rider. The average rider I'm sure has many other responsibilities for that 1k, as much as they'd love to use it on DVDs. I'm sure that if she charged half that, she'd still make a very good profit ($450 is still a LOT of money) and she'd be able to reach out to so many more people.
You know - in these hard times we dressage riders need to learn to be creative. Especially where I live, i.e. in the boonies.
Maybe do what I did - get together with a couple of riding buddies and purchase the set together. THis way you all have it and and use it over and over. No matter if you are on different levels with your friends this still works as it covers so many issues. I have found when I get into a bit of a rut, I pull out the particular topic and review it again - goodbye rut!!!

My buddies and I have also become pretty darned effective at developing our eyes on the ground, while occasionally watching each other ride or at the schooling shows, thanks to Savoie's videos and that is just invaluable

I say it beats spending $$ on the average clinician that comes to our area and charges $80 to $100 for a lesson that just does not meet up with the caliber of Savoie. It also allows me to save my hard earned cash for that 1 special clinic that I would really like to attend with a BNT or even Savoie herself if she is in a nearby state!!

Jane has suggested, in more than one forum, that a group of riders could get together or even a barn, and purchase the set to share. She is quite aware of the difficulty in the price.

I do not share well with others, so I bought my onw set, but do lend out CDs and DVDs to trusted friends. What really works for me is that I can revisit a specific topic if I get stuck on something. It also helps me to review certain things before I have a lesson as I tend to forget things quickly. As I am just in training level, there are many parts of the program that are beyond what I am currently schooling, but they will be there, when I am ready.

As another option, her Dressage Mentor program is very affordable and you have total access to her! How many other BNTs do that?
Not to mention the opportunity to be part of her Dressage Mentor Reunions in Wellington.

I would like to see those "folks" credentials compared to Jane's....

One of the things that I appreciate about the set is that it *is* a lot of information relative to the length of the "lesson". It is a clear and concise statement of what she wants to communicate. It's not the number of CD's or DVD's, though I understand the idea that was presented that if you caculate cost per DVD/CD it's not that expensive. When that went to the argement that it could be on fewer DVD/CD's that idea became confused. I'll put it this way. Between having a fancy bridle and having these DVD's, I would choose the DVD's and a cheaper bridle. Before I upgraded my saddle, I'd buy the DVD's, if that were the choice I needed to make. Before I bought 10 different dressage books on miscellaneous dressage issues, I'd buy these DVD's that are a complete system that is easy to follow. I like the organization of each topic having its own DVD/CD even if it could be compacted onto fewer discs.
Now, the idea that she does not teach things correctly perplexes me. I think the poster who said that should be very specific and say what she teaches that is wrong and how it is wrong. I don't really see that myself.

The set is, as I have said, MASSIVE. But I'm waiting for the building inspector and I don't want to fold laundry so I went shopping at Dressage Extensions, looking at books and DVD's. The closest match I could find to Jane is Leslie Webb. For $130 you can get her 3 DVD's and 1 book. I happen to have the set and like them very much but this makes it very hard to say that Jane's set is overpriced.

We all know that the value in instructional material is not in the paper and plastic but in the knowledge and experience of the person who created it.

Can I interest anyone in MY DVD and companion book "What I have learned NOT to do in 50 years of riding and horse ownership"?

    Probably not

Well, just ordered the course, super excited & motivated to get started, totally determined to improve my many flaws .

Just watching a few of her online free videos, really gave me a breakthru the last few rides.

I've read many books, but visual material I think is so much easier.

I have an entire program with the book that was never written in that I was thinking of selling on eBay. I used the DVDs but never the CDs. It's a great course. If you want to make me an offer feel free! I haven't given it much thought yet. I also have the bonus happy horse solutions, but might hold on to that. The set is in near mint condition. Pm me if interested.
