Some of the best hound work you will ever see is in the rain.
Don't let a little water stop you. It won't stop the hounds.
What usually stops me is the parking; not the rain. I'm afraid my old truck does not have 4 wheel drive.
Yes yes, I know - what kind of foxhunter doesn't have 4 wheel drive and hunts in bottomland. My excuse is that I bought the truck at a time I couldn't afford towing capacity and 4 wheel drive - so I chose towing capacity. And now the truck is paid for and I'm too stingy to buy another one.
I have missed many excellent hunting days. Some fixtures I go to because I know there's a tractor to pull me out. But otherwise - I stay home and pout and eat chocolate.
Hunted in the rain yesterday. Very good since we have this drought thing going and it makes scenting conditions difficult at best (not that it hinders our *cross bred* hounds)
I think the only miserble person was the one in a polyester coat, poor dear. We were comfortable in lightweight wool. Just like Wateryglen said - don't touch it!!
