Per post #145, between $5,000 and $10,000.... cash in hand of $2,500 would probably get him now. (I imagine the real estate guy is figuring less than $5,000 by now anyway.)

Hey Epona, do you think your friend would do a free lease if I went and picked the horse up? She's not getting any money from these people
I'm actually half-serious. My #2 daughter could use another ride and this drama is exhausting!

The best I would be able to do would be to run over between lessons Saturday. Lake Park where the 4H show is held is about 15 minutes from my barn.

Not sure what I could do other than see the girl ride.

I too would be surprised if trainers 1 and 2 are not reading about this.

Oh my goodness gracious. Certainly someone down there has a use for this kind, saint of a horse and can "upgrade" him (to borrow a term from FHOTD) to their home? He looks like he'd be a cute lesson horse at the very least.

Barring that, I allllmost want to see the end of this play out, but only because I'm just terribly curious. This is better than Survivor!

If only it weren't real... Poor pony, poor seller. Yes, I still feel bad for the seller, even if I wouldn't have made the same choices - she's still just a kid.

You know in 4H she MUST have reported OWNING the horse at the BEGINING of the show year,, You must claim the horses and register them with your leader. NO exceptions.... at least that is how we do it here,, and how it has always been.

Dang, after my $8k+ in vet bills the last 3 months (and now the friggin 'free' barn kiitty seems to have an eosinophilic (sp?) granuloma disorder...we'll find out at yet ANOTHER vet visit tomorrow) I'm strapped, but I'm in for $100.
I recognized with despair that I was about to be compelled to buy a horse ~

I like the send someone to the barn with a Bill of Sale in hand and take him. I don't understand (well I do but...) how is it they have not managed to have this horse vetted in 6 weeks of "trial".

I don't think you're supposed to discuss raising money on this board unless it's for a 501(c)(3) charity ...

Give me a F****** break...help is help and I don't give a rats ass if it is for a 502(c)(3) charity....as we have seen many times, charities don't always do good things! If it helps a horse in need...I'm in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
