Yep. I'm anxious to know what happened also. I actually lost this thread for a while... I'm glad it got bumped back up again. Had the hardest time trying to locate it.
So, what's the scoop?

Been quietly following this thread since it transpired way back when. I've never had my jaw drop so many times while reading the same thread.
Here's hoping that all works out. I also can't believe that these people had the nerve to change the feed, etc! WTF?!

So I'm in Fl
and I'm also reconnecting with this thread. Without going back through all of it, does anyone remember if there was a specific town mentioned? I'm almost ready to pick up the horse for the girl if these people try to jerk her around. Talk about getting free shipping and lease!! Oh my.

I talked to my friend two days ago, and the report is:
"They LOVE him! The check is in the mail!"
That said, the check still hasn't arrived- I was going wait till she had a check in her hand to give you the update, but assuming all goes well, the horse should be sold!
I'll let you know when I know! Merry Christmas!

I don't know, horse-loverz,.................................I think the only potential miracle here would be if "the check" actually is "in the mail", makes it to the seller, and clears the bank. But I'll keep good thoughts.

Yes...be sure to update us when the check arrives and when-and if-it clears. It ought to be in her hands tomorrow the 26th...thinking if they told her it was already in the mail on the 22nd, they must have mailed it the 21st or 22nd so it ought to be waiting for her tomorrow. Please share when she gets it...or it gets delayed in the holiday mail.

If I recall correctly, the seller was going to have the check in hand for the price of the horse, before the horse left for Florida. If that were the case, there would be no wait for the "check in the mail"... so I'm assuming THAT didn't happen?

If I'm not mistaken, the friend gave them the deadline of the 20th to decide.
amazing
Perhaps a transport in the driveway could hurry the decision along a little?

Actually, BarbB, we are at the point where "the check is in the mail". That is what OPs friend was told on the 22nd. Mail from Florida to Kentucky ought to transit in 5 days even with the holiday.
IF it was "In the mail" on the 22nd as they claimed.

is she smart enough to check with the bank to confirm available funds BEFORE she deposits it?

Oh, I missed that chapter....or maybe I didn't get to it yet.
So......are we there yet?

Definitely have the bank double check that funds are available before the check is deposited. The Christmas Miracle will not be complete until check clears AFTER the check has actually been received.

Well? That check should have been mailed a week ago today IF it was "In the mail" last Saturday.
