The funny thing is my source in Florida heard the trainer of the new owner saying they bought the horse for $20,000.00 and it is the kids new Marshall & Sterling horse. Isn't it funny how people want to give the impression they have a $20,000 horse when they paid less than $10,000 (I cant give away the price) for it.

How about the one where they take the horse to a show tomorrow, the horse smartens up and decides he no can longer take a joke to the fence. Based on poor performace, they come back to negotiate another reduction.

Yep, we have lots of possibilities to exhaust before this thing is over!

I am in the camp that wonders how the vetting was magically moved ahead by several days after much demanding that they needed more time for it, significant problems were found that supposedly will render the horse useless for their purposes in a couple of years, and yet they still want him (for a lesser price of course). Yeah, riiiiiiiiiight.

I actually dropped the price of a nice hunter gelding by 1/3 after the PPE showed serious changes in his hocks. Just months later I found him on equine.com at double the price and advertised with "clean x rays". I have always wondered if the clean ones were someone elses or the ones with changes were someone elses.

I guess the moral of the story is--before you sell that horse have your own PPE done complete with radiographs so when the potential buyer says there's a problem you have a set of radiographs to compare against their radiographs.... I didn't realize how much of a problem that could become and how much you could get knocked off of the purchase price (whether they're the right x-rays or not!!! ).... There's always someone out there with an angle....
