Thanks for the laugh!
I had thought that this information was so basic that it didn't require explanation. Apparently I was wrong.
Racehorses cannot be entered in any race that happens to strike their owners' fancy....
That was great!
Johnny and Dom...one of the great comedy bits of all time! Thanks for the laugh.
And here I was thinking that it's ironic the title of your thread is 15.1 and your name is To the Max.
Fred, that's huge! And wonderful. Best of luck to her. :)
Hmmm. This makes me think that we need a Kubota.
Ellen Parker is an internet surfer's darling. Kind of like Dr. Oz and Kim Kardashian. Consider the source.
I had to bold that part of your post because I found it to be such an odd thing to say. Really? That's the only reason that they haven't broken down? I'm stupified by that thought process.
^^^ This, in spades.
No, not at all.
I have never heard of that. Where are those trials held?
By giving yet another generalization that isn't supported by available statistics (or the truth) you're actually reinforcing what I said. :(
A top trainer once said to me about Skipaway, "If you watch that horse run, all four legs are going in four different directions. But they're all going really, really, fast."
I think it's all much ado about nothing. Which is probably what Affleck was trying to avoid in the first place.
I agree with Flash44. Looking at length of stride (which is basically what they're doing) is nothing new. But the horse with the longest stride isn't necessarily the one who wins.
Kind of funny...
This topic just seems to go around and around. I wish people would bored with it and move on.
Those who have Thoroughbreds love the breed and what it can do.
Those who don't have TBs like to...
LOL, I missed that.
eventerchick517's post (Inconceivable!) was in reply to Ambitious Kate's post ("never get involved in a land war in Asia") above it.
They are both a nod to the movie A Princess Bride.
Still waiting for an update...
The jockey was doing everything he could to make Cozmic One go except maybe hop off and run along side.
Thanks for the update, sonomacounty. I'm glad you had fun!
You can watch the race live (and in replay) at www.calracing.com
You have to sign up for an account but it's free.
Well if you put a picture of a racehorse on FB, people are going to yell at you. Because that's what they do. :(
