Boarding is always difficult. I dealt with that when I was in Calgary. Where are you located nw, sw, se, ne? I might have some suggestions for you. And what price range?
JP60 - Are you talking about a new BYW? or another brand? I have already spoken to a tack shop about getting a new BYW.
The issue with pacing is that I rode prelim last and now I'm riding...
OMG - pick up the horse and move it to a facility where she is not at and doesn't know about. I would be dropping her as a leaser as she thinks that she actually has input on YOUR horse.
My BYW has been trusty for 19 years. This year, it seems to be konking out so I replaced the battery. All seemed good but now the beeper doesn't work.
I put the battery in both ways but it only...
I would look at a mini=stock trailer. Gives him lots of room and nothing to get caught on.
There is a Facebook group called Horse Trailer Conversion. They have tons of ideas and pictures on there.
That is a good start. Keep looking. It took me 9 months to find my trailer. Horsetrailerworld changes by the hour. Good luck.
I am on the board of the AHTA and am excited that you'll be attending the Eventing 101 Clinic. You will have a lot of fun.
Stall guards are helpful or you can just tie lead ropes at...
My Sundowner was 8 feet wide and so is my Bloomer. I like the extra width as it makes for a longer stall. Check the length of the stalls from centre of the stall to centre. Some measure them...
I like www.horsetrailerworld.com. You can do a lot of searching on here. I found the layout I wanted and then found the trailer.
I just ordered a pair of Ariat Chelan brown like these:
Tegotong - I have had some great lessons with Lynda Ramsey from Mission Creek Ranch. Was down there about a month ago with my young horse.
I have used a BOT wrist brace for myself when my wrist hurt so bad I thought I broke it. Doctor says arthritis. Wore the brace for about 2 weeks and my wrist is great even months later.
There is a good picture on pinterest that shows a jump like this (without the saplings) and has a log over it. Can't seem to post link. It has two rails on the different height logs. Search xc jumps
Caitlin1031 - is this Clinic in Alberta? If so, helmet, breeches, gloves, spurs, boots, xc vest for you. Horse needs xc boots, crop, bridle with snaffle bit. These clinics are made for people to...
I don't like shavings in the trailer. Hubby wanted then when he hauled but wet shavings get stuck between the mats and corroded the floor. Pee runs out and they wear shipping boots on long hauls.
Hosspuller - can you recommend brand names? I need to get a new one as well. I've never heard of a stump jumper. Currently waiting on new clutch plates so I can use mine John Deere rotary cutter...
If I am feeling irritated like it sounds you are (menopause - not so much fun), I avoid the horses. I know that something will just make it a difficult day and it is not fair to the horse. If I'm...
I stop just above the hock as usually it gets pretty dirty too.
Equine Services in Calgary is fantastic. We live in Golden, BC and trailer there for all our horses. 403-242-1913.
Rubygirl - I was hoping for more around the Calgary area. I'm 45 minutes west of Lake Louise.
Rubygirl - Can you point me towards these schooling shows?
Tobiano pattern. White crosses the top line and it has white legs. Also has a solid head with a stripe. Nice pattern but lots of white to keep clean.
We have had many problems with loose dogs. And unfortunately although I can threaten to sss, I just can't do that to the dog. Lucky, I don't shoot as I'd rather shoot the damn owner.
I have gone...
