You need bell boots without velcro. I have tried velcro boots both with and without fleece... both gave my horse serious rubs. I'm pretty sure it is the gap in the side of the boot that causes the...

My horse is on day 5 of the equiwinner patch. He started sweating within 20 minutes of putting the first patch on. He is not sweating as much as I would like, but considering that I have not seen a...

It really depends on how well the horse copes and how much time you are willing to spend on management... I am leasing a non-sweater right now. Assuming nothing else pops up, I plan to buy him. I...

Sorry, I tried to delete my last post regarding changing drugs. I read hastily and missed the part where he improved after you upped the dosage. Those were good instincts on your part. Sometimes vets...

You may want to consider switching the antibiotic at this point.

I have two of the Danskin bras and neither wick sweat... at all. Granted, by the time I finish riding I am soaking wet from head to toe. But, my cotton sports bras are actually more comfortable than...

Glad to hear he's making progress! I will qualify my response by saying that I'm not a vet... But, I would keep him on the antibiotics for two weeks after the swelling and heat are gone.
I fought...

I second the suggestion to hit it as hard as you can with good drugs, so that it gets knocked out asap. All I can add to that are jingles!

I have experience with this, but my story will only scare you. I will say, however, that you may need to change the antibiotic. I have had good luck with Baytril.

One of my horses has a draining tract midway between his eye and nose. When I bought him, it looked like a healed puncture wound, so it didn't concern me. I bought him in February... you will see why...

My husband and I just finished the first month! It is hard, but not impossible. P90X requires equipment and Insanity does not. I highly recommend it!

I am currently asking myself the same question. I have a 7 year old who is definitely not rideable... but I don't know if he is pasture sound either. How gimpy is too gimpy? How many bad days are too...

Has anyone ever dealt with this? My horse was just diagnosed via MRI. I have never really heard of a horse having navicular issues in a hind foot.
-
My horse has had recurring severe lamness in his left hind over the past 6 weeks. The initial diagnosis from farrier and vet was bruising in the frog, as he had a positive reaction to the hoof...

I have a similar problem, although a little more extreme. I am still wrapping a hind leg 11 months post an alleged cellulitis flare up. This horse cut his front leg two weeks ago and I am now...

I just wanted to give a heads up to those of you who use mycaseptic e to treat thrush.
I accidentally sprayed some on my horses body last night (the bottle looks just like an anti itch coat spray...

There are 4 or 5 currently in that area who show on the local circuit and also go to A shows. It is a nice town. Great food!

Do you have his contact info? I want to have zippers put in my Ariats and have been looking for someone competent.

My horse had a pretty nasty case of cellulitis in his left hind. He was totally out of commission for six months. Baytril is the antibiotic that finally worked for him. He is wrapped with a BOT no...

I would KILL for a day like that right now.
I'm still riding, but showing is off the table until mid to late September... when it's back down in the 80's.
ETA: You would never ever ever...

I have tried phyto quench and herbal mune. My horses will not touch them with a 10 foot pole. They STINK!
That being said, if you would like to try them, I would be happy to send you what I have....

A horse in our barn was a poor drinker and had an impaction. When he returned from the vet school after surgery his hay was changed from grass hay to alfalfa. He has been drinking normally ever since...

The average family pet is FAT! I have to bite my tongue about my friend's dogs all of the time. Sausages with legs. Your dog looks great!

I am going to go against the grain and say that I really hate the bow balance irons. The footbed feels gigantic to me. If you can try some before you buy, please do.

I have a pony sized bridle you can have. It does not have reins, but is quite nice. It was a misrepresented Ebay purchase that I was too lazy to do anything about. It was supposed to be cob sized......
