I have them for my guys and won't be replacing them again. I like them (don't need to slow my boys down, just keep their stalls tidy), but they warp and the hinges quit meshing properly, the...
I don't clean my saddles very often and would certainly not do so after every ride. Just a sparing amount of conditioner after you ride should be plenty. Clean your saddle only if it looks dirty.
Julie Congleton (Heronwood Farm) also does haul-in lessons.
FWIW, if anyone loses it, this thread does live in the Eventing FAQs Sticky.
Reveres are quite nice! There are a few around here in Kentucky. Advertise it and see what happens :)
English Tack trader is a good Facebook group. You might also try Sporthorse Nation and your local USEA area FB page.
Thanks Simkie, I caught that too, but not quite fast enough ;)
I got on here to see if anyone else saw that article too. It looks promising! I have trouble finding anything that restricts grazing enough for our pony while still allowing him to breathe and not...
We use Sallee and love them! They build, sell, and repair horse trailers as well as do regular trailer servicing. Ben is fabulous :)
RG really isn't any more hilly than the KHP. It used to run up and down the side of the mountain, but hasn't done that in years. You'll be fine :)
I was answered on Nad's support fund FB page:
"When you donate, the funds go directly to EAF...and there are some really good reasons for donating this way. As we like to respond to the question...
I've emailed Linda. I'll post when I hear something!
Quick question LAZ, if you do the online donation via the eBay site, does it go to Nad via the Equestrian Aid Foundation or just to the general fund? I know that you need to specify if you write a...
So much for easing horses and riders into the sport!
There is a vet named Liz Arbittier who has been chronicling her adventures with her adopted standardbred for The Chronicle. Her horse, Ephraim, is young and still getting going, but apparently is...
The old Holiday Inn North is now a Clarion ;)
I'm pretty sure that Allie Knowles is looking for a working student (eventing, just outside of Lexington).
Yes! That's my trainer, Julue Congleton's, barn. It is an eventing barn with lessons and boarding. No, no website, but there is a FB page with contact info. PM me if I can answer any questions :)
If it is chilly when your event takes place, a bonfire and warm comfort food (spaghetti or lasagna works) are much appreciated!
Search for Bartville here on COTH. Definitely not online as they are Amish, but they have a nice catalogue and do lovely work for a very reasonable price.
Have you talked to anyone at Bartville Harness?
You might contact someone at Trumbull Mountain Tack Shop. They are BC dealers and should have someone in the know. Good luck finding something!
Try joining the English Tack Trader group on Facebook! I've managed to sell a bunch of stuff (including a saddle) on there. While it is a tad disorganized, your add will be seen by oodles of folks....
Jenn O'Neil (Lexington) would also be a good contact.
If you aren't choked up reading that, you just aren't an eventer ;) Congratulations to you both!!!
