Well, not mom and pop, but the Smartpak attic is always worth a swing through. :)

Good thought, but the Stubben trees tend to be much too curvy for him, in general. (Tried the Stubben Juventus Dressage on him.) The Rex is usually a go-to for fat ponies. :)

    :D Thanks anyway!

I do stalk all the tack sites on a regular basis. There is a Barnsby Pony Club model that I think would fit him perfectly, but of course it's near on impossible to find.

I haven't, although I see it pretty frequently. (Although I think the max is 15.75"? I will have to find one to try to see if I can make it work.)

Pretty much all the major makers come out with a...
  9. Saddle Fit for the Adult on a Wee Pony

I regret ever complaining about fitting a saddle to either of my sorta-hard-to-fit horses...doesn't compare to this!

I did it for a bit, and eventually ended up with a third. One could handle being left alone, the other couldn't. Didn't do anything crazy, just paced the fenceline for hours and hours, working...

Western Mass, barn has been in the family since 1902, family has always used the terms as interchangeable. I googled out of curiosity and both are equally legit.

Same with "bay" and "bent" when...

The only people who lucked out were those with SUPER dry fields. (I'm talking basically sand.)

The 300 bales we just brought in were from four different fields, as we just mowed where the ground...

The "2 acres per horse" is meant to refer to what the land supports, although it varies incredibly by location and is more or less outdated.

It has nothing to do with legal requirements, which...

This year it has literally nothing to do with "being ready" or not, and everything to do with the fact that it's been raining every third day here, for months. (There have been exactly two hay-making...

    I'll join in the whining.

We usually put up about 3500 small bales a year; I need 1300 for my horses, give or take, and then the rest goes to my neighbors for their cows.

    I keep track of the...
