My guess on the "walk" fence is that if they leave it up, they are good. I've only seen a few pull it down as they were walking over it. Maybe the absence of a ground rail combined with jumping...

Large Junior Hunter/Handy Hunter rounds going now. I believe after they dismount, they walk over a small fence and then out of the ring.
-
Younger smalls just pinned.

Agghhh! Am I the only one whose Upperville feed audio is picking up Saturday morning cartoons instead of the ring announcers?
-
The class that just finished seemed fairly small. Were there a lot of scratches due to ring conditions?
-
Yeah!!! Go As You Please Handy Hunter is starting! ;)

Wow! Ring looks soooo different. Is it because of sanding to improve footing or is that strictly the result of the storms from yesterday (without sanding, etc.)?
-
It's terrible that the area got hit so hard. Upperville has always seemed to be one of the "classics", like Devon, that I can only dream of showing at one day. Hope everyone there came through...

Patiently (not) awaiting my Upperville video fix. Does anyone know if the whole show is on hold due to the storms that went through yesterday or is the video feed just not working?
-
Acertainsmile - How did you get full screen mode? Can't find the option on my macbook. TIA!

In hunterland, I think the Green Conformation is still going on. Not sure about the jumpers.
-
Is the Founders Cup going now, or is it the TB Hunter Development class?
-
I believe it is the small working hunters.
-
Having never been to Upperville, I'm assuming that the feed is from the Main Hunter Ring? First Year Greens? The picture is quite good. Looks like I'm not going to get much done at home today :D

Sewn in.
Short, productive rides (30-40 min) or drill sessions (hour plus) (assuming not a lesson)?

Thank you for the info/links. While it is not a pleasant thing to consider, I would rather know how to do it if the need arose. Hopefully it never will.

I have a question that is sort of morbid, but it seems to apply here and may get an answer. I would personally have no qualms about going the "bullet" route vs. injection. From all I have heard, it...

I think the most important part is that the horse is put down with dignity, surrounded by the people that have shown them love and kindness, in a setting where they are as comfortable as possible. ...

So do I (TB, of course ;))!
Jeans/chaps.
Leather halter w/nameplate or nylon halter?

Irish Draught.
Horse that gives 110% but has some maintenance needs (injections, special shoes, etc.) or one that you have to push with no special needs?
-
Anna, I have loved reading your posts about your family, Puika and Shella! And the photos - beautiful! Check your PM, I think I have something you could use ;)

Granted, this is info based on New York tracks, but I found it interesting. Not saying it's good or bad, just something to consider:
Two retrospective studies of racing injuries at The New...

I feel absolutely terrible for the owner, trainer, jockey, and all those associated with this brave filly. I'm sure that none of them envisioned this day ending the way it did. I could very easily...
