I've done it. If you read Foxtrot's pedigree, I did it there.

Lustre's last standing son, Farnley Belshazzar is absolutely wonderful and has been my favorite pony stallion of all time. I'm expecting my 12th Belshazzar in 2015.
Farnley Lustre was the stallion of a century in Hunter Pony Breeding. As in the purple as you can get. His pedigree lives on in the best out there today.
My Otteridge Foxtrot was by Fanley Prelude. Pedigree here: http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/otteridge+foxtrot
When that happens they are definitely trying to tell you something is hurting. I'd have the vet take a look.
As everyone else has posted, when some of the placenta is retained, founder occurs. It's horrible. Prayers for the mare.
What is her pedigree?
Try a neck stretcher. Really helps with the top line. I'd suggest only using it about three times a week.
This is an excellent video to review for conformation in general, but addresses your questions regarding hind legs. http://www.amazon.com/Selecting-Hunters-Jumpers-Rodney-Jenkins/dp/B000NJD4C4

Margaret Bzdak, hands down. Lives in Warrenton and braids for a bunch of folks. OUTSTANDING pro braider. PM me for her cell or find her on Facebook. :)
No Diane, you haven't made a mistake in that regard. It's just that an "A" show will attract the buyers that breeders want. :)
That is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
It's unfortunate that Warrenton isn't an A show. :(
Only one link this year. Same for both. They decide when they are showing what.
Regarding the OP and her mare........ I think a horse mare is SO much of a safer bet.
Ponies on the other hand............Sandy & I are in complete agreement! :)
Chunky munky was addressing several posters at the same time (I got that when I read it). :)
If y'all only knew how many times I've been at Upperville. ;) From riding small ponies all the way to...
What the professors didn't tell the class is the unusual way the final product looked. It is NEVER a good idea to breed a small mare (specifically pony mare) to a large stallion. No reputable breeder...
Secretariart drew the #2 spot, but moved into the #1 position for the race. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cS4f6wiQJh4
A more interesting fact is California Chrome has drawn EVERY post position Secretariat had for the big three! OMG!
**Edited to reflect that Big Red left from the 10 spot in the Derby.***
I'm praying for stamina...........
