A very sad day for us all. We have lost a true horseman, a rare human to find these days. He will be missed.
-
What a horse, but c'mon, that's some pretty fancy staying on!
-
I have hauled horses for years, many of those professionally. I'm always amazed horses get on trailers at all, it goes against everything they know, but most of them do get on quite easily.
Then...

Horses are rarely longed in our ring during prime time. They all get turned out, or
longed early in the morning. If it becomes a necessity, it has to be a mutual agreement between anyone else riding...

Thanks everyone! I am going down this week to meet her and hopefully all your info will help!
-
She will do hunters. Not sure why she picked him as a possibility. Red flag? Stay away? I will mention the others to her and see if they are on her list too.
She just wants someone to train with at...

I am trying to help a friend who is considering trainers in Florida.
One of them is Jay Matters (sp?).
Apologies to Jay, but I just don't know anything about him.
She is looking for big A...

Suppose it depends on how you feel about your horse wearing their front teeth down to the gums.

I have a Dare collar on my old mare who is a diehard cribber, but easily discouraged. It is not all that tight, but has stretched a bit. It works well on her.
I use a stirrup leather on my other...

I actually use the the Rusty Dare on one of the girls. Its a bit clunky but I don't have to make it real tight, on this particular mare. It works well for her.
The other mare wears a good old...

OMG I just looked at it again. I did not realize it went in front of the ears. The pic is of a black horse with a black leather strap.
I just saw all the nice fluffy padding and thought it might be...

Has it stretched to where you cannot use it anymore?
-
Anybody try this collar? Is it worth it? I have two diehard cribbers that will die with me. Like to find a more comfortable effective solution than the garden variety collars available.
Good reviews...

I've taught for years and of course all the things mentioned are good barometers. But for me its when the student starts to become more of a rider and less of a passenger. Doesn't matter what...

I just bought a tall boot that looks like the Dubarrys but not anywhere near the price. They are called Heels Down and pull up over my jeans pretty easily.
They have a good sole & heel for riding...

If they are in a closed barn without a draft, I towel rub them and fluff up their coat. At the most, put an Irish knit over them till they dry. A full cooler will just keep them wet. Are you waiting...

This one worked for me, finally. But the other one did not.
-
ZuZu I know that feeling!!!

I was surprised he let me on so fast also. I think because I was doing so well made his decision. I think most people quit working out and being active when their hip gets so painful. I won't kid...

I rode longer today and still felt fine. I wished I could have put mine off, but that wasn't going to work. I was in pretty bad shape. I did train really hard though, I wanted to be as fit as...

Week six of my new hip replacement and I am back in the tack with my doctor's blessing. Felt oh so good to be on my trusty mare again.
Only stipulation was to get on and off from the right. (Had my...

Oh you should. Be funny the replies you might get! Looks like there are quite a few of us out there!

I think its just a server problem, but you are right jane. They usually come back. Sometimes if you slow down a little, it won't happen. Kind of annoying when you are working someone elses farm.
-
...to meet you all. I don't feel so alone anymore:lol:

I sent you a friend request on FB. Hopefully I can send horses to Farmville. I have ponies up to here in Farm Town!
