It's definitely ALL about the mental/emotional development side of things for both mare and foal. You may think your foal (or mare) is disinterested at four months but you are wrong. Emotionally...
I've also asked on Facebook.
Does anyone know what barn?
Horse was put down and barn is now quarantined.
Definitely box stall, bedding and leave them both loose. It's a new baby and mama will want to check on it so don't tie her.
You seem to be suggesting you want to aim for dressage or eventing? Some stallions being suggested are not for that genre. You are comfortable in the resulting cross being a pony (If I'm reading your...
I remember reading that! Thank you for reminding me!
Actually here is a pedigree I'm trying to do some homework on. I know that Deputy Minister children tended to be on the small size. Can anyone shed some light on the dam line?
She really does! :)
Congratulations to the Richard Taylor bred, Naughty or Nice (Crossgates Larasan x Foxy, by Welsh Hills) Champion Filly or Mare & awarded Best Young Pony!
Drew Taylor handled her and was also...
How large were the sire and dam of her parents? You can't estimate on the height of just the parents. You needs to go back a generation. If you don't know, find out. :)
Cryptorchids need to be gelded in a clinic too. Tricky surgery.
There is HUGE market for a small TB stallion (ideally 15 hands) but finding one is like looking for a needle in a hay stack.
He's 16.2. That's mighty large even for a large pony mare.
Morgen Flynn (here in Virginia) may know. Let me send her a message.
What is the pedigree of the dam?
Age for card is now eight (8) and many, many people are put off by sizes (too big when young, too close to top of line at measurable age, you name it).
Be happy he's on the smaller size and sit on...
I'm not at all concerned about him going over. I'd be much more concerned that he will grow enough. I do think he will grow more. Was the dam a purebred welsh? What is her pedigree?
And since he's...
Tragic, so very sorry. :(
That's exactly what I would do!
Purchase it in paste form. SO much easier! Just shoot it in her mouth. Great product!!
Please don't do that!!! Entirely too young,
Janet is correct and Upperville always hires a separate Connemara judge. This year it is Christina Keim from Madbury, NH.
Upperville has long paid homage to the Connemara and the Cleveland Bay...
I almost think the OP needs someone who is familiar with showing Connemaras. Hunter breeding and pony breeding are not the same thing.
Use Equi Spot on foals 12 weeks of age or older. Works great!
You know you can't start a post like that without PHOTOS and a pedigree link.............
