I've been following this thread, too, and am so glad Parker has arrived safe and sound! That picture of his eye --- that is a wise horse, and he's so calm --- looks like all of this is no big deal...

It will end worse than badly. Don't do it.

My guess, and I don't claim to be an expert, is that he's still growing so he may yet level out. Warmbloods do mature later than some other breeds.

All I can suggest is to contact mothers with slightly older/bigger kids and see what you can borrow. A friend did that years ago with her granddaughter --- cutest thing EVER to see little tiny girl...

I guess I'm ultra conservative, but I really hate the jewel tone or dark colored rat catchers --- I'm all for white, buff, pale blue, pale pink, the more traditional colors.

There was a cute light palomino QH filly who had a large birthmark that covered much of her hip and stifle. No matter what you did, she looked like she had a huge manure stain --- not a good thing...

Just A Little Peckernod --- AQHA gelding
Pass The Chicken --- AQHA
Ima Big Tomato --- TB
Legendary Chickenfairy --- ApHC mare
Princess Fluffy --- APHA mare, registered name, poor thing...

I gather tack and other items for the stable at a summer camp where I used to work --- if you have halters, bits, or anything else the stable crew could use, I'd be interested in it!

My Appy gelding was born a bay with a blanket. By the time he was 5, he was a varnish roan leopard. With Apps, you never know what color they'll turn out to be --- heck, my Appy mare changes colors...

Not exactly... I did some jumping, and my horse loved it, but when he got sick, later died, got other horses...just didn't really go back to jumping. Of course, by then my knees were getting bad...

Yep, that's a cow! Probably the most unflattering picture ever taken of such a pretty horse! :-) Heavens, it makes me hurt just to look at how enormous she is!

Ostrich and emus. Those are horse-eating creatures for sure. Just ask Skeeter about it. She loves cows, doesn't care about pigs, rarely spooks at anything silly (although she did spook at a horse...

I'm sitting here laughing at those Bassetts! They are adorable, and as for the ears, well, I can't resist those ears. (I have a Black and Tan Coonhound, so know ears!) I just want to snuggle the...

Oh, I have to agree --- hoses. Specifically hose smut, that nasty dirt that gets on all the hoses and then gets on to your hands. Ugh. I wear gloves whenever I possibly can if I have to deal with...

Way back when, the barn owner where I boarded and I were friends, and we'd gone out to lunch together. On the way back to her barn, we passed by another boarding facility's gelding pasture board...

You need to find a babysitter or two --- a couple of confident trail horses who've been there, done that, nothing phases them including a silly OTTB. If you can find one of the benevolent ones who...

There are two bathrooms at the barn where a board now --- a men's and a women's. They each have a shower, and they are heated/air conditioned. I feel very, very spoiled! Previous places there were...

If your horses have to stay in your bedroom until Oct. 1, get out of that nut house now! It scares the hell out of me just reading about that psycho woman. Either sneak the horses out (i.e., going...

You know, I've always wondered about that, too, and I think it's one of those "tradition" things. At least the hunter people (mostly) were used to wearing the old style hard hats, so it wasn't as...

Many years ago I worked with TBs at a home farm. LOTS of names --- good, bad, and ridiculous.
My favorite names:
Wheeling Easy
Stormy Drive
Stick Candy (a little grey mare who looked like a...

He's a jackass. He killed one horse that we know of. How many does it take before you decide he's an idiot? I wouldn't trust that man as far as I could throw him. If he did it before, for money,...

The most unusual way I've ever seen was the rig that had an open-top, plywood-sided horse trailer with two Haflingers in it. Their cart was loaded above them. It looked rather, uh, redneck, to say...

I used to work at a summer camp and our horses had a lot of "normal" names (Flash, Flicka, Blaze, Boots, Geronimo (a paint), etc.) But then there were the odd ones!
Panzer (German for tank, and...

I collect funny horse names, so I have a few to add!
Pass The Chicken --- QH show horse
Ima Big Tomato --- TB
Princess Fluffy --- real registered name of a Paint mare (poor thing!)

We're reading everything on-line about it. Since I work at a University, we're aware that the same thing could happen here at any time. It's scary.
