There was a palisade at Radnor HT last fall on the Novice course.
The brush on top brought the top of the jump to about 3'6". We actually measured it.
The brush was super solid, packed in...
Just went to this event last weekend.
What a well run event! A family run farm, and the course, while certainly updated with some lovely new fences, was on the softish side, they got a lot of...
Okay, so a little update. I called AC. They went out. I called them back. They told me yes, horses were skinny, but were assured under a vet's care. I specifically asked about one horse who was...
Anyone heard of or seen this place?
We went out there recently ago to look at a possible adoption, and were NOT IMPRESSED to say the least.
Skinny, ratty horses with splintered feet, a dead...
Looking for quiet, older pony - smaller size, gelding.
Or mini donkey.
Will not be ridden - just need as a companion. Will receive EXCELLENT care.
Thank you for you response!
I must have missed something- but I happened to look at the DVCTA website and saw that there are no horse trials scheduled - unrec- for this year, but there are two event derbies scheduled?
This is great! Thank you for this!!
I keep mine at home, and I board at an indoor during the winter months, tried the haul in thing one winter, but when the weather got bad, then the roads out by me just made it too difficult.
I am going to have to say - I agree completely with this!
I am sure they can be fun, but what is the point of recognizing them if not to attempt to grow events like the WEllington thing, and...
Thank you for the contact info.
I wish I could attend your event this year! It is on my list for next year.
You all run a wonderful event!!
Here's hoping you get more entries.
PS I will enter on time next year.
Oh that's a shame - both these events are great local events and are affordable.
Though I prefer Olney, partly because I am lazy - the XC at Carousel is so far from SJ and in late summer the grass...
I think that is part of the lower number of entries.
Though I am going to Olney - hope everyone has a great weekend, though!
Such a great event and usually the smoothie lady is there- yum!
They are so good to competitors - they have bottled water and pretzels for the course walk.
And fresh water at the end of XC for...
Bumping- come on out - great for greenies and building confidence!
Hi everyone - just wanted to put it out there - next weekend Olney Farms in Joppa, Md is holding their annual starter trial.
Elementary through Training, also a CT and D only element.
And from TB or Not TB:
TB or not TB?
" Two ideas:
1. What about a technicality score rating for each XC course, and a speed adjustment based on the technicality? Ie as a rough example, a...
Good job, JER!
Again, I ask and maybe it's just my lower level ignorance.
Does that fact that the courses are more technical without a corresponding reduction in speed factor into the falls?...
Take off the rose colored glasses.....horses died and broke down a lot in eventing's "glory" days. We just didn't have social media reporting it to everyone. There are both good and bad things about...
Whether the sport was better or worse in the past, I think at this point, doesn't matter.
Am I ignorant or simply naive in thinking that the modern courses (not relative to the past or anything...
You guys look great together!
By the way, good post, too - I agree!
Bold mine. This is exactly it - having the time in the saddle. For me, with a one hour commute to work each way, and like you BFNE, careers that are very consuming, it is getting up earlier,...
I simply cannot like this post enough.
