I asked a judge I respect for a recommendation.
I would LOVE to have to worry about that.
My mother has been gone 38 years, and my father died 5 years ago today. (In laws are gone too)
I would gladly trade that for worrying about...
Yes- ONE horse
I am pretty sure it is "standard" for the organizer to pay your travel expenses (whether mileage or airfare + rental car) and room (hotel) and board (meals), separately from the judging fee.
Yes, she does have some health issues.
According to her profile, she was last on COTH on Nov 8, and last posted on Sept 11.
Music is 27 and has worn the same halter since she was 3, nad outgrew the halter she came with. It was originally brown, but faded, long ago, to an alive drab. I have, of course, replace...
Even in a horsey area, my experience is no.
I have sold two properties with stalls, one in the Town of Bedford, NY (VERY horsey) and one in Northern VA.
The stalls were of no value to either...
In addition to Derby Cross, it is perfectly legitimate to have a combined test with Show Jumping and Cross Country, or even two different Cross Country rides.
But the problem is coming up with a...
I am not sure how WEAKENING the rule (on paper) will affect their "business model". National level competition in other countries USED to "count", now it doesn't.
But that was on paper. I do not...
Do you think the new rule will be enforced any more than the old rule was (or wasn't)?
You can use this form
or this one (fillable on line)
My sister's Sportscar, 2003 Mare of the Year. was unrideable on a trail (alone or in company)until long after she retired from Eventng.
Professional JUDGE, but Amateur RIDER.
A prime example is Betty Oare.
Out is better.
I have two older horses with arthritis
Spy is 31 and has BAD hip arthritis and (probably) sidebone that makes him unridable (He catches his toe and stumbles. If there is no one...
I think Pony Club scoring includes Horse Management scores, as well as any dressage or jumping scores.
This weekend, the CDCTA HT handed out Bensmoms saddle soap as vokunteer gifts. I got one in Rosemary Mint.
Maybe it will give me an incentive to clean my tack more often?
As sugggested, read the USEF rule book- but it has specs for a lot of different classes, some of which are not often seen.
The most common ones here on the East Coast (not sure if it...
I live in Nokesville and commute to Chantilly.
But I would not want to commute to INOVA. It is bad enough when I have to get there for a Dr's appt.
I have been prescribed SMZs myself, a couple of times a year (of course they call them something else) for UTI. And once I self prescribed the ones I already had in the house from the vet.
So right next to the beltway.
Not going to be an easy commute to anywhere you can keep horses.
Lots of good memories reading this thread.
I made it to one or two FPP outings with Music (bay mare) (who is now 27) and maybe Belle (gray mare) (who is now 17). Both still going strong.
I don't agree with everything the ASPCA does.
None the less, they are not just a "title sponsor".
They invented the class in the first place.
IIRC, you have to be a MEMBER of ASPCA in order...
I do not know about you, but I find that
-Dressage in an actual arena, with a judge sitting at the end, and a bunch of other horses warming up.
-A cross country course with flags and fence judges...
I'd add to the list
"Learning to Ride Hunt and SHow" by Gordon Wright.
Sort of between "Happy Horsemanship" and GM in the level of reading comprehension.
Did the judge place the riders in the right order?
If he did, then I would not care much aout the actual score.
Some unrecognized events are intended to be "just like a recognized event"
