Wow. Just WOW. I second that. I'm not sure if you think you're "helping" us, slick, with the armchair psychobabble, but truly you are coming off as a heartless _____ .
I'm not sure there are...

RileyT--
You could do it to! I am a former "pony fixer" and a current "kitty/puppy fixer". I used to live in the DC area, but at the height of the real estate craziness we sold and moved to...

It is tough to balance, but depending on what you mean by "the big time" you can do both kids and horses.
I have a 2 yo, and a 3rd level horse that I ride/show. I plan to hit 6 licensed shows...

I could not remember all the specifics, just the "bones" from our GMO, but I knew you'd be here to clear it up!
And while I agree that the theoretical is not always the likely, I know by looking...

I, for one, LOVE your choice of letter markers for your ring. The muck tubs are GENIOUS!! Functional in so many ways!

Jennifer Mitchell (president of NCDCTA) comes on this board, so I'll let her speak for my GMO, but we have, IMO, a "weird" way of doing year ends.
Each placing (not score) is worth a point value,...

Seriously slick, posting--in bold--a negative post about Thomas is a little risky. Maybe we could pull out a few posts referring to you (I'm sure a few exist ;)) in a negative light.
Also, I...

I grew up down the street from the original ALPO plant many, many moons ago.
Slick, your horse was not canned as dog food. I'm sorry, I mean if it was in this century, or for most of the last...

I took a "partial" sabbatical for 4 years college--no horse at school, but rode my summers, and even did some "A" hunter shows. Sold my horse to my trainer to be a schoolie after college (he was a...

Usually I take 2-3 lessons a week, my trainer rides one day a week, and I ride alone any remaining days.
But I do work half time, have a 2 yo daughter, a husband frequently in Iraq, so sometimes...

I agree, and yet, I don't
Certainly in any sort of vote, one retains the right of anonymity, and I support that fully.
However, why not just say that? Why not just say I couldn't decide? ...

I second Jerry's harness. The crown is contoured and padded, and there is no separate strap for the noseband over the crown. Pricey, but OH SO worth it.

even though I have my bronze.
I think if there is a problem (not established) that needs addressed, a new rule is not the way to go about it. But then again, I also lean toward Libertarianism so...

Voice, not allowed (if the judge hears it ;))
Whip is allowed to be used. Only once have I really USED it (other than a tickle) with a smack smack. Rest of my test improved dramatically! And...

Theo,
Do you really have the copyrights to these vids anyway? To me, they look like you got them off a TV broadcast, not from you or your company actually taking the videos live (I could be...
-
Relax. Then ride the horse, not the test.
-
I think it's okay.
I mean, c'mon, the judges don't live in a bubble. There is an area judge who is a friend of a friend who also shows. She has judged me in the past and will in the future. ...
-
I have this problem at times, too, although only on the change from L to R.
I agree that fundamentally there is probably an issue with the canter itself--not truly straight, slow behind, not...
-
No changes for me. Seriously, it's extra gas $$, but in the grand scheme of things, not that much more expensive overall. I have not seen a big jump in other show related costs (other than hay). I...

My horse is in full training, meaning either he or I receive a ride/lesson 4 times weekly. Most weeks she rides once, and I take 3 lessons. I think it breaks down to between $25-30 each session,...
-
Well, that's overstating it as well.
I grew up in a home (er, a trailer, actually) with parents AND younger siblings that did not graduate from high school. I put myself through college, grad...

Hey! His name is my name, too!

Well, I *chose* $1-2/mile. But actually it really depends.
It depends on the boarder. There's one that we regularly trade off favors (borrowed items, heck, borrowed horses, braiding, etc.). For...

Is there any way to make it say that? I have always been confused, and in fact perused the data base for HOURS the other night looking for a song. Maybe it could say "search unsuccessful" if there...
-
I just tried--the album and title searches only yield every song. BPM search for "70" yielded only songs with 70 BPM.
