Oh dear! Has my propensity to invoke the Socratic method rubbed off on you?

Are you satisfied that your trainer is qualified to diagnose lameness?

If the hanging skin is dead you can cut it off with a scissors. Better that then having it get caught on something and tearing off some live tissue above the hair line.

Before I entered the farrier business I only knew one farrier - the guy that worked on my horses. He always cleaned up after himself, returned telephone calls, was prompt for appointments, and...

In my younger years I messed about with several styles of martial arts. I believe that experience has helped my horsemanship on the ground - my ability to read horses and respond to their movements....

Considering that both branches of the shoe are visible, the angle of the image is pretty useless for evaluating phillangial, geometry, alignment or angle. Horse probably wasn't equal weight bearing...

I've never felt navicular pain . . . maybe I don't go to the right bars?
Happy '09 LMH :D

WHAT? You haven't tried the new gravity defying feed made from genetically enhanced grains?

Of course you can't explain how a chemical that destroys the integrity of horn would be beneficial.
No it doesn't work and it can't work. You are giving bad advice based on bad information.

Please explain the chemistry of how turpentine hardens solar horn . . . as opposed to creating premature exfoliation.
Please explain how the hydrophilic properties of bleach result in "drying."...

Would you mind explaining the chemistry - How does an oxidative compound like bleach toughen a protein based structure like the sole?
This ought to be entertaining. ;)

Hmmmm. I thought the length of sunlight was a constant ~5600k. ;)
Sorry I couldn't resist.

In which case it doesn't matter a hoot which way you open the gate or whether you bring 'em in or out one at a time or two at a time.

George,
If you are going to pick nits, insensitive sole is dead.
Once the horn cells of the sole are produced by the dermis, what further life proccess happens to those cells? THey no longer...

Laminar density does not equate to faster growth, just denser cellular distribution. Density does not equate to greater thickness. It may equate to greater resistance to wear, but that is different...

Duckett's work has to do with biomechanics and anatomy. A callus cannot be anatomical because it cannot exist without environmental pressure.
-
In Gene's lecture at the '06 IHCS he claimed that Savoldi's UST theory correlates directly with NB LSP theory.
The rate of growth is consistant. If it was not, then there would be mechanical...

Stick around. "Questioning authority" will get the non-thinkers riled up enough to call you a bully. We've had some adventures in semantic holism on this board in regards to the meaning of the word...

Perhaps what you wanted to say is how can you learn if you DON'T THINK. Ain't it sweet (and light?) that the Internet provides is a comfortable haven for non-thinkers . . . safe from bullys? :)

"Density" would mean more cells per given area - which would also mean smaller cells occupie the same space.
Likewise there is higher laminar density in the area of Duckett's pillars.
In God...

My biggest concern is that this horse needs a new photographer. Nowadays every body has a digital camera and they "think" that makes them a photographer. Learning about perspective, focal length,...
-
Once they get used to it, most horses love being sucked dry with a "shop vac." Its faster than using a the curry and towel. ;)
-
Sort of makes me wonder why they aren't born with it. 'nuther words, it ain't an anatomical structure as some supposedly enlightened folks want us to "believe." The callus structure, when it...

Is this particular part of the sole thicker than the rest of the sole? Does this structure exist in newborn foals? If it is thicker, then it is because that part of the sole grows faster than the...
