I read a scary statement from a big lick big shot. He's putting his faith in the incoming administration to get the ban overturned, opps, not implemented at all.
I was taking a teenager to an event...asked her trainer for the Coggins. "Here, use this one!" sez she.
It was for a bay horse, & the kid's horse was a leopard Appy.
The trainer was very put...
I second the idea of expanding your search to include eventing barns. Most eventers that I know take lessons from both dressage & hunter/jumper trainers. It would be worth a look.
Also do some...
I know somebody who was a cross country jump judge at the L.A. Olympics. That's what she said, but other people say, with great authority, that she is "an Olympic judge."
This is why I think that...
I agree with Groom & Taxi. If you can go to the British Isles & include point-to-point riding & fox hunting, even better.
The tiny rubber overshoes are called Tingley Rubbers in my world, because they're made by Tingley. "Have you seen my tingley rubbers?" can cause eyebrows to be raised.
I rode a green pony in a clinc with Kelsey & she was fantastic!
I can't believe that they wouldn't have caught an error in the dressage scoring until after stadium was over! It's not hard math. I like Matt Brown, but geez....
...for getting called out by Geo. Morris on her excellent form!
I would definitely frame the article if that was me.
He would be adorable pulling a cart!
I have a 10 hand white mule, but unfortunately he's much too spooky to pull a cart.
I think Ferris Muler may need deworming, but he doesn't look fat to me,...
"Riding pickup" at the rodeo. Cuz girls do it too.
I agree, csaper. As one who had a meltdown over a pinata at age 4 ("Stop beating the donkey! You're hurting him!"), I'm wondering how little Arabella handled it when her guests started crunching...
Really, there's more prize money in show jumping so why do this instead?
OK. I watched that & I still hate it. Why not just show jump?
Gerd Zuther was the master at stabilizing the horse with a long rein.
Also, I agree with MysticOakRanch about lightness.
I was told: Forward First, Straight Second, and Through Third.
Do you have any good trails?
That's just heartbreaking, GDW.
No. For all the reasons listed by everyone else.
The trails I ride are pretty extreme. Those that I hike, even more so.
And riding is for me & my horse, while hiking is for me, my sweetie &...
RR posted at the same time I did! If he doesn't hack, take him for walks on a leadrope. I had a super reactive horse whom I took for walks on a longe line, so I could spool it out when he leaped...
I would switch it up with poles on the ground & hacking. You can do dressage work on the trails, if he's calm enough to ride out.
Dressage should be like play for the horse. Other people should...
I audited a clinic with James & thought he was a superb teacher.
In addition to Lucinda Green(e), they apparently "could care less" so I guess they care a little bit.
