I use placing poles (on both sides of the trot fences, and in gymnastics) for ALL the greenies I work with, and continue to do this with students' more experienced...

I do this with students--fairly frequently (especially with the ones who are just learning how to establish a connection, or ask for flexion...) As tfp says, it's *exceedingly* enlightening--for both...
