This is what makes me uneasy about using those types of needles. I've had horses move suddenly with large needles in them, and bend them completely perpendicular to the barrel! Those tiny needles...

Congratulations Disco! She sure is a cutie! Very nice pedigree too. Her sire is an approved stallion with some rare bloodlines, and her dam is a star mare by Wicher out of a Naen mare. Lovely! Good...

Good Lord, your mare Wienna is utterly breathtaking! Were you in the video of the auction?
I'd love to see more video of your stallion Shibumi. How long have you owned him?
Any pics of the...

That's letting the registry define the breed. I think it's much less confusing to think of the horses originating from the Iberian Peninsula as just that -- Iberians. (the term "baroque" is WAY to...

I grabbed this off of a breeders' website, but if you google "Andalusian Lusitano separate registries" you'll get many different hits verifying the info.
" Originally both Portugal and Spain used...

I'm not sure if folks will think this is petty, but, just this past year, after contacting a stallion owner and asking for a dvd, I was mailed a vhs video.
I don't even have a vhs player anymore! :)...

Is it a competition photo?

I sincerely doubt that patriotism has anything to do with their choice of horse. These competitors are in it to win. They will pick the horse that will most easily help them achieve their goals. When...

Something to consider here...
If it really were true that Andies and Lusos are equally talented for dressage, why aren't more Pros riding them? Especially the ones where money is no object and...

I like to browse the stallion rosters of the frozen semen brokers. I also check out the stallion listings on the different registry sites. Then when I find one I may be interested in, I google the...

I'm curious -- Has anyone ever seen it go the other way around? Have they seen a mare who, with her first foal, was a loving and doting mother, and then have her be nasty to her second foal? My mare...
-
There was a thread that talked about him back in April. I looked back at the thread, and unfortunately, some of the pics have since been removed, but some are still there too. Also, you could PM the...

I really like him. My only caveat with him is that he does not have the prettiest head in the world. You have me curious though, and I'll see if I can find some offspring pics to post. I also really...

To those who are telling the OP not to breed her mare --
Listen to yourselves. Don't you think you're being a bit presumptuous and patronizing? She didn't ask for opinions on whether or not she...

Yes, and the big word here is IF. I don't see many (any, actually) chestnut stallion owners who have the agouti status of their stallions listed. So, unless she can somehow find out that a chestnut...
-
Considering what I previously posted about the agouti factor, HOW exactly does testing her own horse for Ee "vastly" open up her options?
-
Sure, but the OP wants a black foal. So even if her mare IS homozygous black, she STILL would need to know the agouti status of any chestnut she may breed to. Most chestnut stallion owners don't have...
-
The OP didn't say her horse was homozygous black. I mentioned that Lexington was homozygous black in response to FriesianX's post about the OP getting her horse tested for the "e" factor. If the OP...
-
Lexington is homozygous black. He will always throw black based foals -- no chestnut. If the OP's horse is black, the foal would be black. It couldn't be any other color.

Didn't Seattle Slew breed until he was around 25 or 26 years old?

I guess we just see a different visual application of musical terminology. For me, when I visualize "staccato" it is with movement that has a faster tempo, and no suspension. A "tap tap tap"...
-
I have no idea... I googled the stallion's name and found this video.
I dislike that the video appears distorted somewhat. I disagree that Sandro Hit offspring move "stacatto". Have you never...

Here's a different video, for everyone's viewing pleasure. :)

Oh, what an awful way to start the new year. So sorry for your loss.

I'm in the market for a couple of mares to be ET recipients..
I can certainly provide an excellent home for possibly two mares for at least a year and a half. I would never put the mares into a...
