Never used it myself but loads of BNTs do. It's supposed to be effective when introduced carefully and correctly.
-
Thanks, it'll be fun to catch up.

Loads of reasons. Slow, unsound, lack of money, horse hates it, partnership fell apart, it ran out of conditions, it can even be because horse is very difficult or dangerous to train.

Bits are as rough as the hands that hold them...

Try a search. I read a few threads a while back about them - a lot of people hate them. Also, I am not sure they will hep in your situation. I wonder if you would get more out of scheduling a...

10-12 years ago we used to be friends and I have completely lost touch with them. I was hoping for an email or something so I could say "Hi" and catch up after all these years. Can anybody PM me...

If it's new and it's not the heat, I'd pull blood and have a panel done.

I don't know about the wear but they don't look like winter boots to me. Brrr. I think that you need to make sure they fit you well right off the bat, people say they don't stretch and wear in like...

Just go to your regular tailor and ask them to put a sturdy zipper on it. We had to wear vests daily and they will end up breaking like that.

Try boxer briefs and tell him how hot he looks in them. I've heard guys rave about polo pants too.
You're lucky, my DH won't go near a horse.

I'll check the rider grip out. Thanks for posting it.
My saddle's seat has not stretched out, it's the same as it ever was - rock freakin' hard. Still love it.
-
I think Andrew Harbison goes there. He was great when I rode with him. He is classically trained but he works really well with TBs and often helps eventers as well. I think his wife events still. ...

Well, I don't think I can do that any time soon. Still LOVE the saddle, hard or not. I don't know if they are all like this or it's just this particular style but it has such a good balance that...

Boy, I wish. I have a Pariani with hands down the best balance of any saddle I have ridden in that is hard as a rock. It's so hard that I rarely chose to ride in it any more, which is really really...

Thanks DancingQueen. I am be interested in crossing over, especially for those hunter Derbies (boy, they look fun) but there is more than that. I want to learn to ride a forward, fluid course, to...

I'd be careful about wearing anything stiff. We had a guy here a few years ago that fell and snapped his leg right at the end of his knee brace. They think it was extra leverage. I know, he could...

Lots of different ways to do things and finish at the same end...just saying...

I hadn't realized how forward the upper levels are. It's lovely (and makes so much sense)
-
Thanks all, very helpful indeed. One of the nice things is that many of them are good enough quality that I can actually see some of the riding involved, very educational. You guys should stop...
-
I am not from the hunter world (I'm a cross over from eventing/racing) but I have so much admiration for the way you guys can ride such a beautiful round that I am trying to learn some of those...

Depends on the horse. I have one horse that I hate jointed stirrups on, they make me feel very unstable. I changed them after a tip from COTH actually...
-
I agree with the others but the one thing I would like to add is that sometimes, just being firm about knowing that you know what you want and that you will get it if you keep asking correctly will...
-
Um, clean them? I would wipe them off, dry them and polish the h--- out of them.

For keeping yourself warm in winter. I cannot tell you how well they...

What I'd need is the whole thing made more narrow, top to bottom, but then the sleeves near the arm pits would still be huge. Can they do that?
TIA, this is a good thread.
