Have you tried a ration balancer with a fat supplement? That way she could eat a smaller amount and not be deprived of nutrients. And maybe aloe for her stomach just in case?

I would be very worried about potential damage to the cervical vertebrae. And unfortunately, that damage may not show up until several years down the road in the form of arthritis.
