Does the BO allow turnout in the arena? Can you turn him out there a few times a day when no one is riding?
It's clearish amber, and the consistency of maybe molasses? Possibly a little thinner.
My barn has no limit on amount of grain fed - but also all but one or two of the horses at my barn are very easy keepers. My mares get 1/3 cup of grain twice a day... one "scoop" would be like a...
Best of luck to you, OP! Please wear a helmet and if you have a protective vest, wear that too, when handling the mare. Better safe than sorry!
We had a bad blizzard last year, and my mares were in box stalls with exactly zero turnout for 3-4 days. They got to run around loose in the indoor for maybe 20-30 minutes each day, that was it.
My mare has the same issue - I try to find blankets/sheets with velcro or zip-off tail flaps. No tail flap, no problems!
I was actually surfing both boards at once and noticed it. What OP is doing is pretty much abuse in my book, and I think that should be brought to others' attention.
Isn't OP the same one who was proudly posting photos/videos of riding a dead lame horse on another forum?
So she's slightly improved when pastured alone? I wonder if she's being bullied, as a previous poster mentioned.
I always love to hear the stories of people's worst/most out-there x-mas gifts. So COTHers, what was the strangest or worst x-mas gift you've ever received? ;)
Honestly OP, from what you describe of the barn, I doubt the whole getting in the way while you're jumping thing is being done on purpose or maliciously. I've boarded at barns that were 99.9%...
I don't know the legalities of it or anything, but I almost think euthanasia would be kinder for the mare than sending her to auction. With the description you gave, it sounds like she may very well...
This, x1000. My filly lived by herself for a little over a month, and her manners got pretty atrocious without having an older horse to set her straight. I even noticed a difference between when...
As for the OP, a heated muck bucket might be a nice compromise. :) At the barn I board at they use a trough and heater, but there's usually at least 6+ horses out there at any given time.
Or in a very large chunk of the US...pretty much including the entire Midwest...
This is pretty much the same boat I'm in. I can at least make my income based payments comfortably, but the chance of me actually paying off my loan seems very very unlikely. :(
I just discovered my employer also offers an HSA, that has a cheaper monthly premium than the PPO. But I know exactly zilch about HSA accounts. Time to start reading up on them I guess. :o
Thank you, this is exactly right. :) I do very much appreciate all the input though!
See neversaynever's above post, they were actually saying these are things offered that they didn't really need. I wasn't putting them down at all. :)
That's more of what I'm concerned about versus an Obesity Screening...
I can't tell if this post is tongue-in-cheek, as I have no use for any of those things.
Being stuck in the awkward middle zone sums it up pretty well. If my employers insurance costed $40/mo more than it does now, I'd qualify for a credit as well. Go figure.
Thanks for the input anyways. :)
That's correct. :)
If your employer DOES offer insurance, you most likely don't qualify for tax credits.
If your employer DOESN'T offer insurance, you most likely DO qualify for tax credits.
Or if your...
