First off, MANY kudos to the Stegmans and PPF for having the CCI**. I was one of them at Fairhill that did not run and was excited to have this to still get my qualifications.
As far as the course...

They have tried Isox, didn't help a whole lot.
In my opinion they need to just make the horse a w/t beginner horse. But, it's not my student and not at my barn, so I can't say a whole lot. But the...

That is what my thoughts were. But I thought maybe I was uneducated in the whole nerving process now, if it has advanced. So thought I would see what everybody elses ideas were.

From what I've been told, the horse had navicular change in x-rays. He's been chronically lame in his front end, they have done all of the corrective shoeing as well. And he just recently came up...

I have the frenchlink with the oval mouthpiece I use on a lot of horses. I've found the OTTB's really like this bit.
-
I've got a friend whose vet is recommending that they nerve her daughters event horse (lower level event horse) for navicular issues. The vet told them that 6 horses ran this past rolex that were...

Normally I leave legs, except on my FEI horses. And if your horse happens to have bad leg fungus (rain rot) etc, I clip legs then because it helps it go away about 10times faster.

Just looked, and it is posted on USeventing.com that the event has been cancelled due to 45 jumps being lost, and the severe flooding.

I REALLY want to, but I can't because it's the same weekend as Fairhill this year...and Deacon is running the CCI** there...

Like LAZ said, I'm a huge supporter of the LF. When my students are ready, I will try and have all of the run a T3D before moving up to Prelim, or run a T3D because of the great things it offers.

After having run one T3D and two CCI* full formats. I will tell you, you will find the way that works best for you and your horse. Take all of the information you learn at the seminars and really...

Have you thought about EPM??? That is one of the main signs, weakness in the hind end so they are "falling out behind" when working...

When I was in FL this past winter BOTH of my UL horses stopped eating and dropped weight, quick. I put them on Ulcerguard and Cimetidine twice a day. Changed to a different feed (Ultium or XTN) very...

I know a LOT of people who have had great success with Succeed. It is expensive, but a good product.
I have a few of my horses, and some at my barn on a genaric form of Ulcerguard. Helps keep them...

Yes it can be caused by changing climates. It can also be caused by your horse being on an anahestamine (SP?). Another way a horse can get this is if they sweat a lot then it cools off quick. It kind...

I'm going to be hosting a show jumping/video clinic with Jared Hohenberg (a Show Jumper from Ocala FL.) at the farm I'm at in Northern Cincinnati. It will be a two day clinic September 5-6. The cost...

I am a firm believer in trying to stud as close as possible to the same size for the inside/outside.. I find that if you have a big stud on the outside and a small one on the inside your horse will...

Haha, after posting the information about that hotel and rate I wondered how many people "attacked" that Days Inn... And all for the $89 a night room... I'm sure they were wanting to get that $200 a...
-
Its the Days Inn at N. Lee Highway, next exit... 7miles away. You have to call direct and tell them you are with the Virginia Horse Trials. That is how I got the cheaper rate.
-
I use Nunn Finer American Style XC boots and really like them. They tend to fit all sizes of horses well, and unlike some boots i've tried wont slide or turn. I also like that they have a hard insert...
-
BOT products are great. I have the lightweight sheet, the mesh sheet, and a full set of wraps. My upper level horse has some arthritis and swelling issues in his front ankle. Keep him wrapped in...

I got a room last night 7miles away at the N. Lee Highway Days Inn.. $89 a night, takes dogs.. That exit still has rooms!!!!

Dawn dish washing detergant, the blue kind (not the bleach). Works the best, doesn't leave that nasty feel to the tack either. And I won't use glycerine on my black tack because over time it takes...

Wow, it makes me not want to compete at the FEI level at all. I believe everything is just getting way over the top and something needs to be done!

I have an OTTB, 17H with big withers. I have all my saddles custom fitted to him from Mike Corcoran of Master Saddles, he is out of Texas. He is the only "saddle guy" that I have met/seen that to me...
