I have recently heard rumbles of irritation and worry about poor horse handling practices, and rudeness to the boarders by the staff. This from someone who has seen it, and is reliable.
It has no markings except for BA on some of the hardware. It also has a breast collar, and a one ear bridle with an aluminum bit with both shanks joined together in a curve. The reins...
Thanks, I'll check those out, and be glad to hear of any others.
I am not living in a hotbed of spending money on horses, particularly non Hunter horses. So not a great deal of western tack would sell even in the one tack shop within an 80 mile area.
Saddle was purchased years ago, never used to rope but only for trail riding, for about a year. Not used at all for many years as owner went to English.
In excellent condition.
Spoken like a single. Ignorance is bliss.
Sometimes a rider has to face the fact that their riding has to be corrected before they can correct their horse's way of going.
If the horse is bulging the wrong way and the rider's position and...
Yes! Yes! Yes! When hauling two horses, longer distances than the show in the next town, traveling on interstates, having "stuff" to carry, dealing with hills and curves,(did I miss anything?) it a...
Barn owner needs to realize that if well built and level, all roads lead to Rome.
There is nothing to be lost in going forward cautiously.
Years ago, there was young veterinarian in the area. He was talking over a PP he had done. It seems he had just "failed" a horse because of something in the eye.
He was talking to another vet who...
I constantly slide mine off, haven't had a problem yet. Believe you me, I'd know about were there any spark. :dead:
Oldernewbie-don't put yourself down. No matter how bad you are, you could not be worse.
And yes! He has the audacity to claim to be a teacher.
Congratulations Cait for your interest in dressage. I too am a fairly newcomer to this board, and I'm sorry that many of the members did not take you seriously.
However, Nick's past bombast and...
Sorry Ponypappy- the contract was between veterinarian and trainer. The owner is not privy to the info. I do believe Merry is correct. My vet says so.
Stay in the business awhile. You will be able, without turning a hair while standing next to two empty stalls, say "Oh I'm so sorry we're full, shall I add you to the waiting list?". :D
Before I got into any arrangement with anyone, I would want a contract and several months board in advance.
I have seen too many cases of self care end up as BO care.
I once had a horse like this. I finally had the farrier pull shoes, and pads, balance the heels which were slightly sheared and trim the frog severely, opening up the central sulcus. Then I flushed...
Had to handwalk a horse that loved to capriole. Glad they were good a keeping those knees tucked.!!
You are making a lot of sense!!!!
Where did you find it. I thought it was gone. :(
In the financial industry, "Past performance is not an indicator of future results" is quite true. However in the business and boarding world past performance is almost always an indicator of future...
Just remember boarders are like horses. They are easy to get, and hard to get rid of.
Boarders that show up every evening are no problem. I understand. They have jobs, without which they couldn't pay board. However I do try to shut things down by 9:30.
Awhile ago there a...
