Well, I live in Oklahoma, and pay 7.00 per bale for Bermuda hay out of the field, which is about the cheapest I've found for good quality hay. There is a huge swing in quality because ranchers will...

Yep, you're right; I've never seen a horse before. And I don't have halters growing into my horses' heads, either.

Sorry, but if you want piece of mind, you should consult a vet, not come to the internet. Of course you're going to be told to take him to a vet if he's lame. What other advise would you expect, when...

I wonder why the halter was left on a pastured horse, if they were able to adjust it?

I left a boarding situation largely because of other boarders feeding treats to my horse. This horse would behave agressively when fed treats, and even though I had signs posted all over her stall to...

If your stalls aren't matted, I think I'd tell the owner that she needs to pay for mats for the stall. That way you could use only enough bedding to soak up urine and stall cleaning would be easier.

Don't know if this will help, but make sure that whatever med is being injected is room temperature. If it's still cold from the fridge, they can feel that. Also, if he has ever been injected IM with...

I would go to some basic dressage on this horse. He is very hollow, which could be from pain, but in his case I don't think so. He needs to learn to lower his head without a martingale. In your...

Ok, flame suit on here, but this is the problem I have with many rescue organizations. This poor animal has to be in agony. In my opinion, FWIW, he needs to be humanely euthanized, not saved at all...

I second the busy buffet from busyhorse.com. Less expensive than the nibble net, and seem to last a long time. I just replaced mine after 6 years, but I could have had the stitching replaced and the...

I have used field fence for many years, with a hot wire installed. In 40 years I have never had a injury, although many years ago I did have a shod horse hang his front shoe in it. He waited for me...

Ok, I'm NOT going to post a picture of my round bale feeder made from wooden pallets  because you'll all laugh at me, but for netting, you can't beat West Coast netting. A round bale net will...

Here's a question; my grey Arab gelding is heavily flea-bitten at 13 years old. No visible melanomas yet. I wonder if the flea-bitten aspect would help prevent or delay the development of melanomas?...

I once gave lessons to a girl for over a year, and every lesson would begin with the question, "Now which side do I get on?"

I have a mare who is a some-times cribber, mainly after eating. I've always equated it to a smoker who lights up after a meal.

    Bucking, pain related? Thoughts?

I'm posting this for a friend of mine who visits here rarely, but she's hoping for some insight on her mare's recent issues. I'll copy what she has written, with her permission. This is a 7-year -old...

Congratulations! I'm curious as to the bit she's been ridden in. If it's a plain snaffle, many Arabians have a low palate and are not comfortable in a jointed bit. Her actions in the video could...
