When I have decided to switch farriers in the past, I have simply just cancelled the appointment and said I would get in touch when I was ready to reschedule. Then I just never rescheduled. It's a...

Yep. Just learning to ride in a dressage saddle after 20 years in a jumping position is killing me! I feel your pain :D.

Thank you again, everyone - is a Niedersuss also known as a KN?

Funny, I tried the Grand Gilbert last night and it seemed much more open in the seat and narrower through the twist. It had a longer flap and seemed to fit me much better, even though it was a 17.5...

Thank you again for the responses. I think I've decided the JC is just too small. A friend is going to drop me off a Passier Grand Gilbert she is selling as well. Her horse is a similar shape to...

Thank you for all of this! Yes, I am impatient to progress (I know, I am setting myself up for disappointment te he) - hence the looking for a saddle. As I would not expect one of my hunter jumper...

Thank you for the replies and input, much appreciated.
I am a bit concerned that is really the length of my femur that is the problem. I am not really overweight, dropping 10 lbs may or may not...

After over 20 years in h/j land, it would appear that my now teenaged mare is enjoying a second career in dressage, which has led me to the search for a dressage saddle.
Of course, budget is...

Is the behavior consistent during each ride, or does it disappear and re-appear? If it comes and goes, try charting it - you might be surprised it pops up and rears its ugly head for a couple of...

I have a Collegiate Nobility and for the price, I'm very happy with it.

No, you're just human and you're making a living. Wouldn't kill kids these days to learn life isn't fair, that sometimes you're not going to be the apple of the eye, there will always be someone...

The TS trophy hunter mirdrise are fantastic - I'm short waisted, but hourglass shaped. The mirdrise aren't so high that they are a unitard, but are not so low that "muffin top" is a possiblity. ...

I think you need to address each of these issues separately, and one at a time.
If he's not broke to the leg, then IMO there's no sense trying to teach him contact - so that would be the issue I...

Agree that he does't sound broke to the leg or the hand.
If you watch Day 1 of the 2012 GM Horsemastership clinic on the USEF website, Beezie Madden does a session on a horse that resists the leg...

I think you're just at that point of your riding development where you're figuring out the concept of true "feel" - how to follow, when to hold when to soften, when to add and subtract leg and how...

Maybe she wants to be a jumper :D?
She looks like she should be athletic, she might just need some time to learn to use her self.

Try taking a look at the Exselle brand of saddles, especially if you're a fan of Crosby and don't like too much saddle.
I sold my Childeric after finally admitting to myself it was too small, and...

I'm a big fan of red raspberry leaf and magnesium to level out hormonal/spooky mares.
I just get my raspberry leaf from here http://www.herbnhorse.com/, and feed a handful a day with the grain.

What are you changing about your ride over poles to your ride over fences?
I think if you figure this out, you will figure our your problem :).

Perhaps, since you do like her, you could buy her some sort of a "hope chest" (even a wicker one), with an item or two in it, for her "some day horse".
Then you could perhaps go through together...

The nice part about the Duo is that it is a soft rubber material, not the stiffer plastic like some of the Happy Mouths.
If you have a chewer - it won't get the sharp edges like the Happy Mouths...

Ride off of the rail, ALL the time.
This will stop you from allowing yourself to be lazy with the outside aids and letting the arena wall do the work of keeping your horse straight.
Try riding...
