To me it is lazy jumping.
Their position is weak and they are over-doing the release.
See it here all the time in the SJers.
Yes Irish Sport Horses are very common here. And Im not schooled up on the differences of American and NZ TB's...
There are a huge amount of stbs here, because we have a large following of...
Found one of us standing beside my Coachs 12yr old Registered Irish mare.
We thought TB as well, but she has really chunky knees, and quite a bit of bone. Ill try and see if Ive got a jumping photo Im brave enough to post!
There are Qh's here, just not enough that everything is crossed with them. NZ is very much English dominant. :)
Yes. I can understand slinkies/hoods the night before a show, but thats just weird.
So whats in an "old-time" horse? :D
Im still convinced she does not have any QH in her.
We believe she has done hunting in the past.
Would love some big fat braids but she has hardly any mane, but a decent tail.
Dont think she would have any QH in her, being from the lower half...
Without being all mean and stuff, because this is about my horse not me....
What breed/s do you think she could be?
I was given this horse to ride from my Riding Coach after it was...
Yeah I mean the other sign...
Ive read and re-read the other sign... it doesnt make sense? Or is it just me....
Wish we had a home Depot here!
Im about to embark in my first ever partnership in an amazing up and coming Event horse.
The shares are split 51% 24.5% and 24.5%.
I am buying into 24.5% share.
There is an...
Nope not considering buying this horse - hes way out of my budget!
Hes just pretty to look at. The same ad was placed about a month ago with none of the draw rein photos.
Looks like they are...
Just after some opinions as I am not very familiar with the use of these aids.
I came across a lovely young colt for sale on a major New Zealand horse sales site.
Great looking horse,...
I only ride once a week. If I had more time I would ride more.
In the last 3 years I have ridden once a week, and sometimes twice on long weekends.
As long as you have a good trainer and a horse...
Awesome thank you.
I went to our local hardware store and seen a nice set of solid plastic steps, littl step ladder really. Just not sure if it would be high enough. Have to measure the one out...
I like the idea of the trailer door, will have to remember that when we go away from home.
As HungarianHippo said, I think my best option will be to build one for her.
Those ladders are just not tall enough though. And the ones Ive seen here in New Zealand are not made strong enough!
But I like them - have to get one myself:)
I like this block too. Doesnt look too hard to make, and would be really light.
Thanks everyone for the ideas :)
Not sure it would be high enough for her, but I love it! Have to have a hunt around for something like this!
Love that mounting block! But should of mentioned in original post that space and money are an issue as well.
I like the ladder idea though, will have to have a look through the local hardware...
Logs are great! We have several placed at spots where we have to dismount out on trails. Like gates we cant easily open and on either sides of State Highway 1(Main road which travels the length of NZ...
Yeah thought about a ladder, could work and is movable. At the moment we use old washing machine insides, the drum bit, even I have trouble mounting off them.
Would just be worried about her...
