I have some experience with friesians (boarding in a breeding barn of them and rode a few of them, showed one of them.) I have no experience with PRE, a little experience with lusitanos.
You can join anytime! Go for it!
Canter WA Facebook now up and running.
How great Jennywho!
Oy. It is going to be SO hard having a CANTER so close to me! So excited to see this start up in WA though!
Epona, I PMed you.
I've never been to bend, I live up near Seattle but there has to be a hunter/jumper scene in Bend. A lot of the large show barns up here go down there for shows.
ETA: Here is the show I was...
Thoughts. If your horse refuses the second fence of a line do you rejump the whole line or only the fence refused.
Schedule says 8, I'm guessing they will be a bit behind. Two Exhibitions, course set and walk before start.
Thank you to everyone who explained! I'm over here in hunter and dressage land. We don't have much gaited anything and even saddle seat is hard to come by. I'd never seen a friesian in saddle seat...
This explains A LOT. Thanks!
My thoughts exactly.
Just now, he called for a walk. The two horses the camera was on never walked before he called for the reverse and the 'park trot'. Huh.
ETA: Is a walk a gait? None of them...
Talk to your trainer. I'm sure she understands what is going on with you not having a horse anymore. Maybe there are more than two options. Maybe you could lease something. Maybe she is thinking...
The superbowl champs are 'world' champs even though it's only US.
Oh, didn't know that. Very cool. I've only watched the International Hunter Derby at our local shows and from my knowledge they only get one ribbon. At least they only come back in for presentation...
They are giving ribbons before the Handy?? I'm in a con call meeting so I've been watching but not listening. I didn't miss the handy, did I?
Yes, a faster pace is supposed to be favored but Maggie May moved very slow but had a big step (moved nice, jumped fantastic and had great expression). I unfortunately missed Airport 48s round.
Yes, I was surprised as well.
Way to stay centered and stick with it Jenny! Dang!
Wow, glad that horse caught herself. Thought she'd go over backwards. Yikes! Good on the rider for getting a nice jump and retiring.
There must be trolls on course a few of them aren't liking...
Very interesting commentary about the in and out saying these were to mimic jumping out of one field, across the road and into another field while hunting.
I take that back, just looked at Ryegate and the only people below her took down rails.
Anyone think Cassandra's score was a little high? The first time through the double in the middle of the arena she had a HUGE bulge to the left and a very awkward distance to the oxer jumping out.
I believe the first jump is 3'6, the smallest fence on course. So a full foot shorter! That 4'6 oxer looks ginormous!
Totally my plan! Hopefully sound will resume when the showing begins!
